I checked Rock Auto and I'm really confused lol. Does anyone have a PN for a 2WD non cruise Speedo cable ? Sent from my moto e5 play using Tapatalk
-
After fighting with it more this morning I know it's gonna be the cable itself, has anyone had any luck with the cables on Rock Auto? I'm not sure if it matters between auto/manual and AWD/RWD Sent from my moto e5 play using Tapatalk

No i only disconnected it on the cluster end, never touched the tranny side Sent from my moto e5 play using Tapatalk

So I'm 98% sure that my Speedo cable is busted, the needle on the speedometer was shaking a bit since I bought the truck. I replaced the cluster (I had idiot lights) and it seemed to shake less until it completely stopped the trip, Speedo and mileage. I looked on the tranny and pulled the cluster again and it seemed to be connected securely on both ends. Am I just a noob and missing something obvious or is the cable toast? Just curious, why would you want to disconnect the driveshaft instead of just leaving it in neutral? Sent from my moto e5 play using Tapatalk

OHHH okay that makes me feel a lot better lol. Thank you everyone for your responses!! (And sorry for all the dumb questions) Sent from my moto e5 play using Tapatalk

It seems REALLY low to me. At idle when warm it sits at about 250/300 RPMs. And when I step on the gas the RPMs don't go nearly as high as it sounds. At 3500 it sounds like I'm redlining the hell out of it Sent from my moto e5 play using Tapatalk

I did all the ground cleanings from cruisers tips already and even did the c101 elimination. I was honestly just concerned (from the other manual vehicles I've owned) that the RPMs were too low. If you saw the pictures and think that is where it should be then I'll just leave it alone and enjoy my new cluster [emoji23] it idles just fine i just thought the cluster I purchased was from a 2.5 (mine is a 4.0) and needed to be adjusted Sent from my moto e5 play using Tapatalk
-
Or even just drill a hole to access the adjustment screw lol Sent from my moto e5 play using Tapatalk
-
How do I remove the potentiometer for adjustment? I've been looking on all the Jeep forums and all the pics that come up are "removed" or something Sent from my moto e5 play using Tapatalk

I have an OBD2 scan tool but I didn't think you could even plug them in on these trucks? And I tried but apparently I can't post a video Sent from my moto e5 play using Tapatalk

I think I'm not understanding where exactly the screw to adjust the tach is. Is it INSIDE the tach itself or on the back?? Sent from my moto e5 play using Tapatalk
-
Maybe I'm crazy lol does this look right for warm idle? It seems to be sitting below 500 the warmer it gets Sent from my moto e5 play using Tapatalk
-
My tach reads less than 500/nothing. I can't figure out how to adjust the rpms so the read right (they don't have to be perfect just close ) Just replaced dummy lights and sensors Sent from my moto e5 play using Tapatalk

I bought the crown one as recommended by Ohm, I had to order a second one so I really hope it's the right one [emoji23] they did look different if that helps Sent from my moto e5 play using Tapatalk

Also, that is the correct sensor for my new gauge cluster riggt? (Courtesy of jdog) Sent from my moto e5 play using Tapatalk

I just jammed a screwdriver in and it turned out lol. I had to order ANOTHER one and will remember to not over tighten next time [emoji23] thank you for the reply Sent from my moto e5 play using Tapatalk

I just broke my new temp sensor as I was putting it in for my gauge cluster swap and half of it is in the engine and idfk what to do Sent from my moto e5 play using Tapatalk

Yep it was a stupid question lol i figured it out, thanks to everyone for all the help!

So I'm looking for an 87-90 cluster then? I don't wanna mess around with too many mods if i can just plug and play. And is the oil pressure sender the only one i need to switch out for full gauges? Sorry about asking so many questions i just want to understand. Even if someone just sends the proper link or something, i just need to know: 1. The clusters that are plug and play 2. The parts i need for the swap
-
I love the idea of having both sets of gauges actually but i would have to make them work before i can entertain the idea of keeping them lol. Jdog ill pm you about the panels and cluster, which brings up my last question: which year clusters will work in an 88? Any links or clarification would be greatly appreciated

I know there are differences in the cluster years and you have to buy sensors instead of switches, but can I buy blank replacement panels so I don't leave those aftermarket gauges in? Sent from my moto e5 play using Tapatalk
