  1. Cherokee is hit hard in the back, not salvageable. I'm just trying to save something out of it. I started it, it does start, didn't run it long. Just wanted to see if it ran. Don't like what I am hearing about it though. Guess there are no modifications worth the money to make it work better. People said it ran fine right up until it was hit. Looks like about 5-6 years ago.
  2. You all are talking me out of this swap. Probably a good thing. Anyone need an '01 Jeep 4.7?
  3. I know it's dumb, but make sure the + and- are right on the pump (I had mine backwards, it didn't work).
  4. I had one in a Dodge Dakota a few years back, it pulled my horse trailer without a problem. I just kind of wondered if anyone knew of problems that they had experienced. I traded mine off for a full size Ram before it gave me any trouble. Well the adventure will begin putting it into the Comanche, I'm building it with pretty heavy duty parts. Probably overkill for the wife, just want to make it reliable and strong enough to get her out of any trouble she gets into (she decided that she want to go 4wheeling herself, bad influence from fellow Jeepers).
  5. I was gifted a 2001 Grand Cherokee with a running 4.7 V8. Does anyone have an opinion on the engine? I want to put it into the Comanche I am building for the wife. It has to be more reliable than the Renix engine (and overall system) that is in it now. It is an 88 2WD with a 4.0, that just stopped running one day.
  6. Yes, that is the last thing I checked before coming in to the computer.
  7. Good to see this thing getting close to finished. I don't dare let my wife see the whole thread, I am building one for her, know it won't measure up to what you have built. She would ask why I don't do that to hers.
  8. Any ideas as to why the fuel pump would lose voltage? It worked fine for a while, shut it off, quit working on it for a while, tried to start it, and the fuel pump has no voltage. Can't find anything obvious, figure someone has chased this gremlin and may have insights. I already doubled up on the grounding, i am not getting any + voltage that I can find.
  9. Not welded to the frame. I have a few of the building of the bed that I will post. Here's a few.
  10. Thank You I painted one like that in the 80s, think it was a Datsun. Just reliving my youth.
  11. It's getting closer to getting on the road. Building rock rails for it now. Left to do is wiring the windows.
  12. Sorry for hijack the thread for legal issues. Love your build. Makes me feel bad about mine and the lack of detail, just don't have the patience you do.
  13. Can you tell me where I can find the VIN plates on my 90?
  14. If it's over 25 years old, they only do safety inspection in Texas.
  15. Guess I will just have to pay the fine, mine is not going back on.
  16. Looks great, wondering why you put the catalytic converter on? Just know you don't need it in Texas on one this old.
  17. Thanks, that is what I was hoping for. I will go ahead and cut this one and solder to the new tail lights then.
  18. Very nice. Where you going to wheel that? I know there's no place around here with trails wide enough to keep from scratching it up. I am guessing you are still in Frisco.
  19. I am only asking in case it's a commodity and cutting it would be a shame. I can always make a harness for the tail lights with a different plug.
  20. Just put it in The Pub Wondering if this wiring harness has any value before I cut it up for new tail lights.
  21. Is a talk light wiring harness worth anything? I am just checking before I cut it to wire my new lights. As you can see, not stock at all.
  22. From the album: 1990 Comanche Big Ton Build in Justin Texas

I got this bumper, marketplace ad says it came from his TJ. Seems to fit a Comanche pretty good.
