  1. Thank you, I will try this tomorrow.
  2. I am hoping someone has a suggestion that I haven't thought of. I test drove my 88 around the pasture, the transmission was slipping, I shut it off to check out the vital fluids, and the transmission fluid was low. The next day I bought fluid, and added it. It has no spark now. I have checked, and it has power on the yellow wire, and the black wire is grounded. Nothing makes sense to have gone out with no warning. I hope some one has an idea I haven't thought of.
  3. I am sure you have heard this before, but I'll ask any ways. Where did you get the cowl induction hood for your MJ?

Reflexxion used to make it but they stopped making it years ago...

  4. Something tells me it's not the last thing I will find to fix.
  5. Okay, I ran a jumper from the fusebox to the hot wire on the dash. It worked. I checked the fuse, it was good, that was in the evening. I went out today in the daylight, and the connector behind the fuse, the metal part was gone, it had copper color on one side, plastic on the other. I have jumpered around it. Will fix it right when I have more time to fool with it.
  6. here's the fusebox. fuse looks good.
  7. The fuse is obvious, but I haven't checked it. will do that today.
  8. I have this one and my CJ7 apart at the same time, so I am not able to give full attention to the Comanche. CJ is getting a Dana 300 (had a Quadratrack) so I get back to you after trying what is suggested.
  9. The tilt wheel is tight. This one stopped driving before parts wore out it seems.
  10. I pulled the Instrument cluster, it looked very clean. I will take it back apart tomorrow, clean it some more, and try again.
  11. voltage and oil pressure also.
  12. 1990 Big Ton with 4.0 5 speed.
  13. No luck, ran the ground out to the engine compartment. No change. this thing is frustrating. I can't see all the gauges going bad at the same time. it has to be something they all have in common.

  15. I was hoping you would say something easier to find. You are probably right. so far the only chewed wires were by the airbox, feeding the fuel pump resistor.
  16. Tach doesn't do anything, gas gauge pegs out, temperature gauge says it is at running temperature when it starts. pretty sure it is a ground wire chewed in two, any ideas?
  17. okay, the video helped. a vise, a BFH, and a pickle fork, and it is off.
  18. do you know if all 4 sides need to be pressed in at the same time?
  19. I bet a feeler gauge would do it. I may still have one. On a side note, BFH has done nothing.
  20. does anyone know how to take the shift handle apart? I cannot get the new shift boot over the large knuckle on the shift rod.
