I know its the same ratio. I need to look at the whole thing though. I know the Dodges came with both 7.25s and 8.25s in that year. If its an 8.25 with 3.55s I'm in business. From what ive gathered, its no more than unbolting the driveshaft, undoing the brake lines, and unbolting it from the leafs, right? Correct me if I'm wrong please.

The differential in my 91 Dakota is shot. My local shop wants 900 to replace it. I don't have 900. My local jy has a whole rear end for 200. I'm thinking on just doing the whole rear end myself. However, Ive never done rear end work. What tools/parts/time/price am I looking at here? And is there a step by step to do this? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Ive got several near me. Ones a white sporttruck or pioneer, i don't remember because its always going the other way. Its got some serious cancer. Then theres a green repaint that i can't tell what model it is, and a black longbed with a dark blue bed and a rollbar with lights, believed to be a 4x4, just sits, never moves. Then theres my 87 2.5 4spd 2wd

When you say prop valve, do you mean the thing in the front after the master cylinder where all the lines split or the valve i asked about under the bed?
-
Did that make your rears lock up quicker?
-
About the load sensing valve? Mine leaks. Can someone give me a step by step on how to either repair, replace, or remove it?

VALVE UNDER THE BED OF THE TRUCK

My valve is leaking. If it just plain fails will the other line stop the truck? -

Will a cherokee bumper fit?

I have an 89 S10 rear bumper, will it fit a 87 Comanche? Are there adapters to make it fit? Does anyone have one (a bumper) cheap?
-
Ive heard both sides of the story, so I'm gonna ask you guys. Which gets better gas mileage, tailgate up or tailgate down/off/net instead?

what's the best way to clean carpet?
Hick replied to Darren's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Ive used brake cleaner before. It will immediately remove grease. But don't forget, TRY IT IN AN INCONSPICUOUS AREA FIRST. It sucks when you go to town on your interior and end up bleaching it. -
anyone have a pic of a stock cluster?
Hick replied to Hick's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Thank you. Thats exactly the pic i needed. :D -
My alternator went tonight about 11pm. Got towed home. My question is, what is a good alternator for the 2.5 in an 87 comanche?
-
I'm looking for pics of stock gauge clusters. My 87 has some gauges in it that I'm not sure about. If anyone has any could you post them please?
-
it does it on right turns too. i was driving and i just lightly turned to the left and it just lightly clunked. the harder i do it the harder it clunks
-
My 87 Comanche 2.5 2wd 4speed clunks whenever i turn the wheel left from center. Ill turn it about 1/8 of a turn to the left and something clunks. It also does this when i turn while moving. Is this something serious or just a sign of needed front end work?

It looks like it, but its oil thrown up on the hood. It needs a valve cover gasket. :agree: But it doesnt work. :dunno:
