I'd definitely be interested in seeing how you managed this. I'm looking at a similar unit and am interested in the behind the scenes work

Scar-Fab frame stiffeners!

If it works out would there be any interest in selling the plans? Could probably save myself some time etc cutting them on the laser at my work etc. -

I dream of a time when every MJ needs these. Currently it's me though. -
Figured someone could use this, I know it's not for an HO but still. https://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-86-Jeep-Comanche-Fuel-Tank-sending-unit-assy-18-23-5-gallon-tank-52003652/232057535509?epid=140229977&hash=item3607b4fc15:g:cLEAAOxyu4dRtkbK Edit: looks like there's a few up: https://www.ebay.com/itm/86-87-Jeep-MJ-Comanche-18-23-5-gal-gas-tank-sending-unit-2-1L-2-8L-NOS-AMC/184012150126?hash=item2ad7fa956e:g:jHkAAOSw3ehdtwDB

Ah, makes sense. I used the AA kit on my build. Went together pretty nice.

I really hope this pulls through because I want one for my truck. -
There was a guy selling the Advance Adapters bellhousing on Facebook for $200. Sure wish I got it before I got mine :/
-
I would have loved to put one in, it's just not in the budget. Maybe one day

Ready to send 3rd gear to the moon in my AX15. The advance adapters bellhousing kit was pretty slick, as is the flywheel/clutch. Also decided to spend some coin on the Holley Terminator X Max system for DBW control. Jumped the starter to crank the motor over, but she's not quite ready to fire yet, hopefully soon though.

It's got a rocker panel on it. Haven't really taken any pictures. I need to buy the rear half of the driver's floor before I can do the floor, but I've been pretty busy. I'll update with pictures when. I get some more pictures when I get the chance.

All set guys, thanks
-
Will do

A member DM'd me about one for a fairly decent price but hasn't answered when I requested a shipping est.

It's actually still in the truck. It's only ripped on the corner and would probably suit a wheeling truck well. I think I'm better off having a glass guy come pull the window
-
I know the window is held in with urethane, but changing my rear window out for a factory slider and I think my gasket is ripped in a corner.

Scar-Fab frame stiffeners!

Is this project dead? Were the prototypes accurate? If you feel generous enough to share the designs I could probably get my own set cut out on the laser at work. -
True, but I sure do hate the north east. The second pic is all rust that blew out of the frame rails. I'm really leaning towards getting some weld on stiffeners at this point.

I actually have a key-part rocker panel for an XJ, looks like it's the only one with the taper. But I'm not completely drilling out all the spot welds so I'll have to graft the new one it and I've never really done bodywork.
-
Yeah. I have my work cut out for me. I have a replacement. But with how this is going I'm almost leaning towards 2x6 even though I'd prefer not to.

Things got out of hand very quickly when it came to the motor. Was planning on modifying the truck accessories and shaving the intake/getting a cowl hood to not smash the motor into the hood. Well here's how that went. So what did this refresh bring? Well, it started with gaskets for the oil pan, valve covers, and intake, but I also needed to clean or change the oil pickup. So that became new, and if i was changing that I might as well installed a pickup tube brace. I also needed a new dipstick tube, and dipstick, so I ordered those. After going through all this trouble, we might as well just make the accessories easy, so I ordered high mount brackets from LSXInnovations. Which also changed the game when it came to intakes. It took me a while to settle on an intake, but I landed on an LS6 intake I got a pretty decent deal on. The reason I went this direction was to keep the DBW throttle body. So after ordering all these parts, it became time to install them, but while we have the block apart we might as well needle scale it and put some engine enamel down, and while we have the valve covers off, we can do some wrinkle black on those. and while the water pump is off we can shine up that timing cover and clear coat it.
