Are there any alternatives of an aftermarket external slave cylinder for an (AX15), other than Advance Adapters (SKU: 716340)? Just today, I pushed in my clutch and my pedal did not return to the normal resting position. The current Advance Adapter, External Slave Cylinder cannot have 5,000 miles on it! It is my belief that it "$#!& the bed" Everything is intact, no loss of fluid anywhere! I seem to think that after I purchased from Advance Adapters, (that there was chatter) saying that these kits, are failure prone! Any and all advice, will be highly appreciated!

Brand New Taillight Lens Installation
KANTANKRUS replied to MYE Jeep's topic in MJ Tech: DIY Projects and Write-Ups
This thread relates to the brand new 'Key Parts' lenses, that can now be purchased. He did not refurbish his old OEM lenses, he installed the 'Key Part' lenses, to his OEM housings. -
Replaced my TPS with Mopar
KANTANKRUS replied to KANTANKRUS's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I bought this TPS from Ebay, I wanted a Mopar, over a cheap knock off from Advance Auto. My Comanche is AX15. -
Replacement of my TPS, with a Mopar TPS, vs a Aftermarket Chain Store TPS. After install, I still seem to have a sticky throttle cable. So tomorrow I will crawl under the Comanche to see if there is any obstructions along its throttle cable/ linkage. Yes, its throttle body has been throughly cleaned. The red line depicts the plug that was connected to the aftermarket TPS. The orange line depicts the plug, that was not connected to the aftermarket TPS. It was dangling just above the manifold, for God knows how long. My question is, what does that plug control? This plug is square, with stacked connections inside it, the other plug is oblong, with a single row of connections. Please advise. TIA!

That is what I was thinking, commonly needed things.

That is 'if' you have space for lawn ornaments, but you got to have a lawn first... lol!

What if you had one or more of these, just what would you put in them? Which fasteners/clips/paraphernalia?

Tachometer connection.
KANTANKRUS replied to KANTANKRUS's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
What is the FSM? -
Clueless, thats why I am asking. How does a tachometer read the RPMs of a motor? Do our trucks have a cable to attach too something? (If so) What? My 87, 4x4, AX15, 4.0 liter, does not have a tachometer within its instrument cluster.

Does anyone have a source for these? As with many of our vintage MJ's, my dash pad is cracked. No, I do not want to replace it, way to small of a space, for this 6 ft 4 inch body to mess with.

If my tumblers in my ignition or worn out, will its original key profile match a new set of tumblers? -
For 6 months, I could not find the keys to my Comanche. Last night I watched a video posted by Bubba, (the young man who bought my Jeep Cherokee Chief), that was when it struck me! Maybe my keys are on its keyring. Well guess what, they are. Bubba is going to send them back to me, with UPS, 2 day ship ;) I would love to find new AMC key blanks! Anyone have a source? UPDATE: my (on holiday keys), found their way home from Marysville, TN on Saturday May 29th, 2021. ;)

I hate junk yards. They have snakes, bees, mice, poison ivy/oak. Plus not worth, fighting with rust and corrosion twice. Once off junk car and once off of my MJ. I buy new when I can. And I intend to install a pair. -

Yikes, I got that same link from All Things Comanche. Rugged Ridge, sure are proud of their products, thats a chunk of change, for something as straight forward, as gas strut lifts! -
Weather stripping, doors specifically?
KANTANKRUS replied to KANTANKRUS's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Ideally, I would like to find a source for the weather stripping for the 'smokers windows' too. I just bought a pair. Many of the peeps on 'All Things Comanche' on Facebook, were poo pooing these 'smokers windows' saying that they leak and so on. Well wet razzberries to yinz, as I will do whatever it takes, to make this pair water/air tight. Even if it take me to coat the current weather stripping with multiple layers of Flex Seal. I am also inclined to replace the striker plates, with a thicker guage stainless plate. -

Kudos to all of you! -
Has anyone installed gas lift struts, under the hood of an MJ? And if so, which size?
