  1. Oh by the way, I met another Comanche owner yesterday and I steered him towards this website. I told him to please join and at the very least add your truck to the Registry :) 87 Pioneer 2wd

  2. Hey one more thing, where is cruiser54's tips stowed away on this site? Some of my medical issues have finally been dealt with and therefore I want to begin turning wrenches on my truck. Oh NVM Pete, I see them under that same link!!!
  3. That 'red circle' was where it was snapped off, my friend ran a bead of weld, the entire circumference of that cylinder, that thing will not break again.
  4. How do you accomplish that?
  5. Would this cause excessive cranking of my starter? 87 Laredo 4x4, with the 4.0 liter Manual shift truck. And if so, I hear that its replacement is not a fun job... is that true... lol!
  6. Once again, does that depiction show 'the brake pedal assembly as well as the clutch pedal assembly? Please advise!
  7. Sure will, check em out... but not until after mid June 2023, that is when I will finally be seeing 20/20 again. Cataract surgery, on these eyes!
  8. Pete, After much thought, I may just keep it stock with its current engine... not many miles on it really, if I remember correctly near 130k. But my main concerns have always been reliability and the header, I have read that it is prone to cracking. And now I see that the rear main seal is leaking. Cruiser's tips might become a way to rewire my BRAIN and just learn my way through all of this older technology.
  9. I suppose I know that answer! The only way to 'Nix the Renix' is to gut the truck and install a whole XJ PCM system, including but not limited to, dashboard, steering wheel/column and firewall enhancements... jeesh! And if I have to do that, then a V8 is going into it.
  10. I guess, my biggest concern lies in the PCM of the 87 MJ, verses the 84 to 01 XJ Cherokee (not Grand). Will the 87 MJ PCM interchange with the newer XJ engine? Furthermore, I would like to upgrade to OBD verses the Renix controlled engine, or is this even possible without a major domino effect? I would like to Nix the Renix!
  11. Good gravy, I just saw this... sorry for the YUGE delay. My life has been one big roller coaster since 30 October 2022, sadly. So that depiction shows 'the brake pedal' Does that rod also pass through the 'clutch pedal assembly'? Please advise. TIA!
  12. What will I need? The XJ motor will be gone through, before the swap. Power enhancements may be included, but not 100% necessary, as I want reliability over increased HP. Please advise.
  13. Question, does that same bolt have a nut on the other side?
  14. This is the S shaped bracket, that I am referring to.
  15. 1987 MJ, I discovered this bracket dangling from the push rod on my Clutch Master Cylinder, (no wonder why my clutch pedal went clear to my underside of my dashboard. This bracket is 1/4" plate (just how the hell did that happen?) So, my question is... do I need to remove the entire pedal assembly, in order to 'bench weld' that S shaped bracket back onto the pedal assembly, or can I simply remove the bolt, circled in red? And if I remove that bolt, will there be an internal spring withing that horizontal cylinder that the pedal rotate on? Please advise... thanks in advance!
  16. No loss of fluid, has been found.
  17. So, with that said, it is in the master cylinder and not the slave cylinder.
  18. I replaced the spring under the dash with a heavier spring (clutch pedal arm). Still no help. Its not engaging. It will not go into gear, when running.
  19. I must wrap my head around all associated terms, before I even try to tackle such troubles. Yes, I have turned into a geek... lol!
  20. Technically, there are two cylinders... the Master (pictured, above) and the Slave (pictured, below) right?
  21. Maybe we are all not talking about the same thing. I may have my terminology incorrect... is this not a slave cylinder, or is it? And if it is, where would the said spring be? Internally, I would have to only assume! And if so, how would I access it? Please advise!
