My gauge cluster went out and only the speedo works. If anyone has a lead on a new one that would be awesome. All the ones I find have dummy lights and/or a tac.

My headliner was toast so I had to order a new one. I put some sound dampener on and am waiting for the headliner to arrive.
  6. http://smsheadliners.webstoreplace.com/ i just ordered mine through this guy. should be here in about three weeks. think it was $250 shipped for the headliner board and all.
  7. Mine is a manual with no Tac
  8. Hi all- I found a gauge cluster that claims to be for a 1988. I have attached the photos of my current cluster and a link to the one for sale. The part number is off but rightfully so because they look different. Did they make two styles in 1988? Can I swap this one in? Thanks https://www.ebay.com/itm/JEEP-CHEROKEE-XJ-INSTRUMENT-GAUGE-CLUSTER-PART-ES895600284-OEM-1988/152775553112?hash=item239221f058:g:CFsAAOSwrFtZ~5ed&vxp=mtr
  9. I would like to keep the lift under $750. That leaves me another $750 for wheels and tires. I have a few other things that need replaced too, window seals, wiper motor is on its way out and a gauge cluster. Only the speedo works right now.
  10. thanks for the info and the photo. its nice to see what people have after they explain it. I could see myself doing something very similar.
  11. My grandpa upgraded the rear end when he had it so I'm not positive what is there. I've been tossing so many sizes around its crazy. I like the sound of a 32 or 33 with a 3-4 inch lift. I hadn't heard about the braking issue so thanks for the tip. Ill do some research on that too. I'm pretty early into the project but it is derivable so I'm working as fast as I can. The interior was pretty messed up so I've got that torn apart now. Carpet, pad, headliner are all ordered and the old stuff is torn out. I am in need of a new gauge cluster but it seems to be hard to find. Thanks for your time and response.
  12. I have a 4.0L with a five speed manual transmission. i think the axle ratio is 373 or 411. The truck is a 2wd short box.
  13. Hi all, I am trying to decide on how big of a lift kit to get, how big of tires and what size of wheels. A lot of my decision is going to be the look of my MJ when its done as I don't plan on wheeling it. If you choose to respond to this can I get a picture and the sizes of the things listed above. Thanks for the help. Rylee
  14. My biggest issue is I don't know any better. I would have to have something break to realize what needs upgraded. This is my first project vehicle. I have a little know how but I'm not super tech savvy. I have a lot of research to do still. Thanks for the feedback.
  15. 1. How much tire can i fit under my jeep with a 4.5 inch lift without having to cut anything? 2. If I buy a lift kit does it come with all the parts that I need to make my Jeep drive or are there other things that need to be done. Thanks for the feedback
  16. I recently spoke to a shop called American Auto paint in Renton WA who quoted me 2k for spray and clear coat. Also said he would take out my two small dents. I failed to mention the bed is a little rough. I think that might be the best option. I might do the Maaco $400 just to keep it protected for a while until I raise the money for the good stuff. I have lots to do before paint anyway. I need to buy a lift kit, wheels, tires, and get the seat re done. Thanks for the feedback about prices.
  17. I am in the market to get my Comanche painted. I live in Puyallup WA and am looking for an affordable shop for the task. Anyone have a suggestion? Thanks
