Just got this 87 with 136k miles, the previous owner put a $300 Maaco paint job on it in the original color, but besides that it appears everything is original on it. Even the tape player! I've been lurking on this board for months and combing ebay, cl, and other sites for a silver Comanche with 6 cyl, auto, a/c, p/s, 2wd, no rust and I finally found one. Future mods: Mild suspension lift, rims, AT tires, exhaust, put new foam in seats (after 23 yrs they are kind of beat down). We just bought a house so the mods won't be as fast I would like, but slowly but surely, they will come.

To answer this question intelligently, need to know where you're located mate. I'm in Winter Haven, FL but the truck is in Clearwater, FL. Its a 6 cylinder also.

I'm going Sunday to inspect a 87 Comanche with 146k miles, 2wd, shortbed, auto, a/c works, p/s, no dents, no rust, no mechanical issues, paint looks good from photos. He is asking $2,450, I looked up on kbb.com and a good private party price is $1,625, $1,800 for excellent. Assuming all the above is correct, I was thinking about starting at $1,500 or $1,750. What do you all think? Also he said the bed is 6 feet long, is that a short bed or long bed?

Thanks for all the responses. I just called the guy back and it has a 4 cylinder engine, that was replaced sometime ago (it was his dad's truck, he died, so he's selling it). The truck has no PS or AC in it from the factory. Living in FL I have to have AC, would this be a big hassle to install AC in it?

I found a 88 MJ, the seller said it does not have power steering or a/c. Generally, is the power steering pretty expensive to fix?

I've always liked the factory wheels of the 93-98 ZJ Grand Cherokee's wheels. I was wondering if anyone has pics of an MJ with those wheels on it? I googled it and couldn't find any hits.

I've noticed that XJ's are commonly used as donor vehicles for MJ's, is basically every part from 86-92 XJ's interchangeable with MJ's?
