Didn"t run a Compression test BUT: It goes through 1 litre of oil every 20 km's. Have a new motor going in soon as I do not have the experience or money to rebuild a motor right Black interior is MINT with working interior lights to boot. Rockers are solid. Missing a floorpan on D side, new carpet. Found old bill of sale, P.O. Payed $4000 2 years ago. Think I got a really good deal.

Probably your Central axle disconnect. Are all vaccuum lines hooked up? easy thing to do is pop the cover and see what's going on inside. Try manually sliding it to the right, and then test the 4x4.

Thanks Pete  I was trying to do the swap as cost efficently as possible, but I guess it is a Jeep Just Empty Every Pocket

Phoned the guy got him down to $300.. Gonna try for $250

Picking up a 4.0 AX15 2wd SWB comanche. I'm putting it to 4x4. (AX15, NP231) What rear driveshaft can I use to make this setup work? I have 2 cherokees (One with an AX15/231. Another with a AW4é242 combo) Would either of these shafts fit Thanks Justin

Is it worth picking up for $300 http://calgary.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicle ... Z223176212 Ignition smashed out, but will still work-Have new different ignition I can swap in. SWB 2wd 4.0 AX15 Have parts to make 4x4 Assuming Dana 35 since SWB? Have dana 44 Rusty rocker panels, rear bumper and doors rusted right through. Have new doors No frame rot Motor runs good for a while. Starts running bad, blowing black smoke and won"t start until plugs are cleaned.? Possible 02 sensor? Swapped in bucket seats. What do you guys think? Thanks Justin

If the low fuel pressure is your problem couldn"t you turn your key back and forth a few times to prime the fuel lines and build up pressure?

Kinda cool....It's got dual exhaust :brows:

Emailed a guy on CL about a comanche about 2 weeks ago. Got a reply saying someone was looking at it that night, Told him to email me back if it sold or not as I was very interested. Still no email and was looking again the other night and he still has the truck for sale, but $100 cheaper. WTF

Due to the fact that the shackles are tied together wouldn't it flex like crap? How could anybody feel safe driving that thing around?

starting issue - starter seems fine?
Justin_k replied to dunl's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Hows your battery cable end? Cherokee had the problem, new one fixed it. Or does your motor have that much compression? :rotf: Got a spare starter if you want it. -
Got the door key for my cherokee in my wallet, ignition hidden somewhere inside. Comanche only has 1 key, no door key so I have to leave the wing panel window unlocked. (It looks pretty beat soI don't think anyone would even try and break in  )

Also over beside Dunl and Waytec in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta

Good to see another Canadian on here, an Albertan at that. Was reading it earlier on CJA. Nice truck, looks good :clapping: One question, when you swapped in the 8.25 did you move the spring perches?
-
That"s the answer I was looking for. Thanks Pete

Alright, thanks for clearing that up. Next question, Why isn"t it possible? Sorry for being so difficult but theres only one way to learn.

Can I somehow convert my 2 wheeldrive AX15 to 4wheeldrive? If so can I do it without dropping the tranny? i Have a AX15/NP231 I can swap in if need be, but I'm lazy :rotf: Thanks Justin

I think 3:55's would be the best. I'm still running the stock 3:07's with 31's and don't mind it. I don't do much offroad and for the 4x4ing I do I use 4lo. The only time I want deeper gears is for towing my quad trailer. (It would also be nice to use 5th at speeds around 100 kph, I like being able to do 125 kph in 3rd though )

Thanks Freak  I've read so many I just couldn't remember where I read it.

Thought I read a build up which had somebody modify a stock front bumper to include tow points (cut slots in the bumper, stuck tabs through and welded both sides of tab). Does anybody know of the thread or am I thinking of a different forum? Considering something like this but wanted to brace my front bumper more and thought poster might have covered that. Thanks Justin
