Clutch or transmission?
89comanchesleeper replied to jeepjunkee's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
with the motor off. get a friend to rock the truck back and forth while pushin it in first. some times the gears arnt lined up. if it still won't go in first then i would wonder about the state of the tranny. could still be a clutch issue tho. -
wiper delay switch
89comanchesleeper replied to 89comanchesleeper's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
oh anouther thing is the stalk has cruise controll but the truck don't. does that sound right? His very first post said he has the delay on the MFS. If that's true, it might have been bypassed by someone already. No, I think all that means is he has a wiper stalk w. delay plugged into the MFS. One thought for you........ If you push the stalk in, and turn it clockwise, it will pop right out of the MFS. So........anyone could have installed a delay wiper/cruse stalk in your truck, and then you would think.........'Gee......I got all these goodies' :teehee: :teehee: So think about it, if you don't have the sterno motor under the hood for the curse, you don't have it.......if you don't have the DW control box under the dash.....you don't have it, and the seller of your truck pulled a fast one on you........maybe :dunno: Just because something is there, and it looks like the real thing........It might not be :hmm: So, pop the stalk out, and if the wire for the curse is not hooked up, AssUme that the delay wiper extra wire is also not there  ill check this out and see.. thanks -

have you cheked the timen? could be spark knock if its only under loads. -
how close are the fans to your rad? if there to close the fans won't have much bite/pinch to pull the air through the rad. you might want to try to put a 1/8 in space between the two.also the best rad ive seen for tight fits like s10 v8 swaps is a corvette one core rad. and if water moves to fast through it there won't be much time for the water to cool. i can't recall the name of it but theres a additive you can add to the coolent to drop the boilin point and lower temps. are you runnin a hearter core. they help out to. oil cooler would add a little help also. is the truck a dd also? you could always put the rad in the bed. it would give planty of time to cool and would add with not bein under the hood with engin temps. hope this helps you any

low volt with a/c on
89comanchesleeper replied to 89comanchesleeper's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
will do. thanks man. -
my 89 mjs batt gauge stays close to 14 volts while its runnin. lights on ect. but when i turn on the a/c it drops pretty low. close to 9 volts. thats a big drop for just a a/c clutch to kick in. i can turn just the hearter on and it stays the same. any ideas? :dunno:
