I'd love to change my 89 to this. Where did you find and how do you make this happen? Sent from my LGLS990 using Tapatalk

You've came too far to turn back now, I know your frustration JR I deal with it everyday on my job. You're doing exactly what I have to when faced with an issue like this, step back and clear our head. Man created these monstrosities man will fix!(lol) Wish you were closer I'd be there to help...G00SE Sent from my LGLS990 using Tapatalk -
It's got a 4.0 automatic now Pete M. And happy with it, my goal is at least a 6" lift and at least 35" tires and some nice wheels. And truly not that concerned with converting it to 4x4 yet. But plan to eventually for emergency use only, (It's snow so much in S.E.Tennessee) when we have travel to work..lol Sent from my LGLS990 using Tapatalk

Is the XJ/MJ 4x4 Running Gears the only components that will fit my MJ 2wheel drive to convert it to a 4x4? Or is there other options for me to consider? I'm on kind of a budget and don't have an unlimited supply of resources. I know with enough money almost everything is achievable. I just don't want to waste my time with starting a build that I end up frustrated and leave it unfinished. Like the build that's been in the corner of my garage now for 10+years. The XJ in the pictures is a local guy where I live that he's put Ton Axles in and did a really good job. The MJ is what I am starting with... Thanks for any pointers and I apologize up front if this has been asked a zillion times..G00SE Sent from my LGLS990 using Tapatalk

So, I'm sure I've overlooked it but in your initial post you said you changed the oil filter nipple to use a different oil filter? Care to tell me how and what you did to change this because the last time I changed my oil I almost didn't find an oil filter to fit my 89 4.0liter.... 140,000 miles? Barely getting broken in. The Jeep 4.0L engines are usually good for 250,000 to 300,000 with just routine oil changes and maintenance. Wish I had taken pictures of the MJ when I dug it out of a Muskydime bush where it had been sitting for the past 5or6 years. The guys son had worked on the fuel injection and put 3 wrong injectors from something in it and didn't replace the orings on the fittings and the original owner just parked it after his son fixed it because it wouldn't run and it was leaking gas everywhere out of regulator side...Now she purrs like a kitty cat Sent from my LGLS990 using Tapatalk

So, with 140+ on the odometer I'd guess it's probably past it's golden years in service... Diagnosis: a)Unplug "The Timer" b)Replace Oxygen Sensor.. Thanks everybody G00SE Sent from my LGLS990 using Tapatalk

Will the current oxygen sensor still work when "The Timer" is unplugged? Sent from my LGLS990 using Tapatalk

What does "The Timer" look like and if when I change my oxygen sensor does "The Timer" reset itself or how will I reset it? Sent from my LGLS990 using Tapatalk

I had actually already flipped the grill around when I put new headlamps in a few weeks ago when I was putting in back I noticed that it look like it was upside down then. But thats very observant that anyone would've noticed it in the previous pictures because I thought when I was re-installing it that I had turned it around when I trying to put back together..lol Sent from my LGLS990 using Tapatalk

Please fix the front grill cover. It is upside down. lol,,,,Is that why it's leaking oil? I'll bet the engine is upside down too... Sent from my LGLS990 using Tapatalk

As I've already discussed in a previous thread I purchased a 1989 MJ going on about a month ago, drove it today about 10miles and while driving it I stopped by some of the kinfolks house and noticed a small puddle of oil underneath around where the transmission is and thought I've got a transmission leak problem but after getting home it looks as though its not transmission fluid and is looking like its a oil leaking problem. Can I replace the oil pan gasket without pulling the engine? and if thats not the culprit can the rear main seal be replaced without pulling the engine and dropping the crank? Thanks for any help in advance, G00SE Sent from my LGLS990 using Tapatalk

Here's my 1989 MJ 2WD I just picked up 2weeks ago for $500USD I've had to clean out the fuel system and replace some fuel injectors to get it to live again it's been sitting for almost 5yrs less than 150K miles on it but no rust that I've found... Congratulations on your find, I hope you enjoy your MJ I know I really like mine Sent from my LGLS990 using Tapatalk
