  1. Hi! Does anyone have a link to the write up on rebuilding the ends of the lines on a fuel pump assembly like “Wildman” did? I can’t find a write up on it and I’m finding myself in this situation. Thanks!
  2. I find it easiest to remove the speedo cable from the transfer case as well as any retaining clips holding the speedo cable along the length of the underside, and then you can gently pull the cluster out with the speedo still attached and then can remove it easily since the cluster will be out, makes for a much easier time putting it back in too.
  3. Thanks for the replies everyone, regarding my map sensor, sensor and vacuum line to sensor are good. As for your tips cruiser, I’ve completed a lot of them, but I will definitely go through them again carefully to see what I haven’t completed.
  4. Hey everyone, I posted recently about my issue, but I’m still at a loss, and am going to try to explain better what’s going on. I just put a motor in this truck, the motor was fully rebuilt with low miles on it, I know the motor is good. Okay, so here’s the issue, I’ve gotten it running, and above idle speed, it runs smooth as could be, but idling it runs like crap, inconsistent idle speed as well as running like crap, smelly exhaust too. Things I’ve done, new plugs and cap and rotor, checked for vacuum leaks, cleaned throttle body, and IAC valve, replaced o2 sensor, cleaned c101 connector, cleaned all grounds, changed egr valve, one thing I’ll say is that when I was testing the egr valve, unplugging the vacuum line to the egr valve made zero difference in how it ran, does that mean anything to anyone? Issue is at its worst on cold startup, gets better once warmed up for 20 minutes or so, but still isn’t great. Doesn’t effect driving, and runs great under a load except releasing clutch when starting off will hesitate if engine speed is around the speed of the idle. Please help! ***Update*** wasn’t getting much vacuum anywhere, pulled this piece out and saw that it was clogged! I was delighted to see that I found my problem, put in a clean one, and have great vacuum now! But guess what? Runs 100% the same, like crap.

  6. Hi, I’m at a super loss here, swapped starter relay trying to hunt down a crank/ no start problem on my 87 4.0l, did that, no change, so put old starter relay back in. Then all of a sudden I had no click, and no crank… I’ve tried 3 starter relays, 2 starters, (starter cranks if I jump it). Cleaned every ground I can think of. Somewhere between swapping from one starter relay to another, I now have no crank… Cleaned ground at oil dipstick, cleaned ground on driver’s fender, cleaned ground under dash on driver’s side, but considering how this happened, I feel like something must not be right by the relay, wires are hooked up correctly.
