Needing to upgrade the headlights on my 1990 Comanche. There is a lot out there. Want something quality but doesn’t break the bank. Looking at the 100-200$ range. What’s the best bang for buck?

Thanks for the info. I am a supervisor for a Tool and Die shop. I just spoke to one of my guys and they said they would be more than happy to make me some mounts! So that's a plus

Wow, those look really nice.

Very Cool, That is very similar to what I had in mind.

I enjoy being able to fabricate and build as many of my parts as I can. I am getting closer the end of my build, if there really is ever and end, and I am wanting to build my rear bumper. I was wondering how folks went about fabricating the rear bumper mounts? Did you try using the originals, made new, or purchased them? Any help appreciated. P.S looking to build something like this if it matters.

High Output Alternator
kill_burst replied to kill_burst's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Great thanks -
Recently upgraded to a odyssey battery. Is it beneficial to upgrade to a high output alternator? Will this maximize the performance of the AGM battery? Running just a few accessories like a couple offroad lights and a winch. Thanks

I am finishing up a 4x4 swap on my 1990 Comanche. I need to put a new speedometer cable and can not seem to find the right cable. I ordered what I thought was a correct cable, but when I got it, it just said lower cable. Do I order one for a 1990 4x4? thanks

Great thank you!

Could use a little help. I have been finishing up a 8.8 swap and cleaning up/repair small areas/painting the frame. Right above the axle in the rear I have a rusted out area on both sides. I imagine those were the original bump stops and brackets. I just wanted to verify that’s what was there and if those supports/supports had anything thing to do frame support or support for a portion of the bed. Thanks.

Is it possible to shorten a 2wd Comanche Driveshaft? I need to have it shortend by about 8 inches with my 4wd swap. The reason I ask is due to the rubber intern damper in the shaft. I thought I read where the shaft wasn’t modifiable because of this. Thanks

8.8 swap spring plates
kill_burst replied to kill_burst's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I ended up going with a pretty cool product from Barnes4wd. The spring plates attach to the top of the axle and u bolts bolt in from the top rather then the bottom. -
I am finishing up the 8.8 swap. Spring perches are welded in. However, I had read on here that people were able to reuse the old spring plates/shock mounts. If so, how did you modify the original spring plates? If I drill out the bolt holes more, it looks like it will hit the plate where it starts to bend downward. Any help would be appreciated. May have to end up purchasing plates from ruffstuff

I am in the process of finishing a 4x4 swap on my 90 MJ long bed. I am needing some assistance with getting the correct speedo cable for the swap. My automatic is coming up about 6 inches short. Any help would be appreciated.

8.8 Swap driveshaft question
kill_burst replied to kill_burst's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Great. Thank you for the information -
I am in the process of completing a 4x4 conversion on my 90 MJ with a 3.5 inch RE lift and 32s. I decided that I would use the Ford 8.8 Rearend. I will be finished with the swap in the next day or 2. I know I will need a new driveshaft. Any recommendations on setup for the driveshaft? Do I need a SYE? Recommended companies for the driveshaft. Thanks in advance

Yes I agree!!! thanks to everyone that has helped. And also not saying stupid things like "try searching for it" or calling people "noobs".

Great!! I feel more confident going with the ACC now. Is the mass backing worth the extra money? or should I purchase the sound deadening material?
-
oh wow, so even stock interiors is really ACC?
-
I just finished cutting out my rusted out floor and welded in all new metal. Looking to put carpet back in. What company is recommended? I have seen a lot of negative reviews about ACC company I believe. The other one that seems to get better reviews is a company called stock interiors. Any help would be appreciated.
