This is my 88 MJ. 2.5,4spd,2wd...for now. Has a 3" lift and 235x75's...for now.I want to go 31's w/Alcoas. After I convert to 4wd,WJ knuckle swap,hydroboost,8.8 rear,and 4.10's Image Not Found Image Not Found I was given this truck as payment for swappin transfer cases on my friends GC.

was there ever a full console made for a column shift automatic MJ/XJ?

WOW, it's been awhile for this thread. Anyhow I got the truck here and found that the valves has been coated with bad gas that turned to varnish on the stems. So I removed the head and had a valve job done. I got the head back on and all buttoned up. Now I found that someone "borrowed" the electronics form the distributor :fs1: . The engine was replaced in '02 w/a MOPAR reman. This thing was SPOTLESS on the inside,the crosshatch pattern is stil very vissable on the cylinders,and the tops of the pistons had almost no carbon on them! I can even see the .005 oversize on them. :D . So after I hit the wrecking yards this weekend, I may be able to have it running! :clapping: AFTER I clean the fuel system out and replace the filter. -Lance

Hey everyone,been a member here for a short time,but havent done much posting. So I figured I would post up my project. I got this as payment for swappin transfer cases in my friends GC. It's an 88 2wd,2.5,4spd...for now. Image Not Found Just finished the cylinder head install. Now I have to drain all the old fuel out and flush it. Then it will be driveable. This is my friends Comanche USA Olympic edition(?) Image Not Found I also have been working on it. Converted the front axle to non-disco,swapped in a 242 transfer case,and trying to talk him into the WJ knuckle swap and an 8.8. Let me know what ya think!? -Lance

Thanks guys! This thing has problems, it had bent pushrods-they were replaced. Now it runs like crap i guess. I have to go pick it up still. I was paid w/ the MJ for swappin transfer cases in a friends ZJ. So I was curious about the differences. -Lance

I have done some searching..maybe not typing in the right right words. But I am looking for mods for the 2.5 4cyl. Do they use different heads like the renix and HO? Do they benefit from the same type of mods like the HO ie injectors,later manifolds,etc...? Thanks for any advice and info. -Lance BTW I have an 87 MJ 2wd 4spd. Thanks

Has anyone ever done a CS144 swap on their truck? I have always messed with old Chevys and Fords and always upgrade to the more powerful internally regulated alternators. Thanks -Lance

It's my understanding that the output is different.

I found two different specs on the front axle(D30) carrier bearing cap torque, the cherokee forum says 40 ft lbs and here it says 57 ft lbs...???? Which is correct? I just converted a friends disco axle to non-disco w/ solid passenger side axle shaft swap and need to re-torque the carrier. Thanks -Lance

Ok, after some searching I have a few questions about a rear disc brake swap. I have a 1988 Comanche 2wd. I just aquired a '97 C8.25 w/ trac-loc and 3.55 gears. I want to instwall rear disc brakes from a ZJ and upgrade the M/C and booster. Do I need to change out the prop valve for the disc brakes? One more question, has anyone ever used a hydroboost froma Chevy Astro van? If so, any tips? Thanks and BTW my name is Lance and I am from SoCal. -Lance
