  1. I had to take their offer on the auto side. I just had to get on with life. Still getting an MRI on the medical side. Now I need to start making a shopping list. I'll be posting in my build thread soon.
  2. Be careful with neck strengthening. I only weigh 183 and have pretty low body fat percentage, yet I've been diagnosed with severe sleep apnea. Doctor says it is because wrestling and jujitsu made my neck thick. My neck is 44 cm (over 17 in) diameter.
  3. Thanks man. This week has been rough for neck stiffness and headaches. Ultimately no amount of money would be enough if this is my new life.
  4. I could stop trying to make a deal with the insurance company and instead file a lawsuit against the guy who actually hit me. Then his insurance company would have to pay for his defense in court, which would cost them a lot more than it would take to make me happy.
  5. That's only an option if you carry collision / full coverage.
  6. Not exactly. Getting an estimate from an independent shop would be one potential point of a case/argument. I have asked for a copy of the estimate they received from the shop. They have failed to provide that as of their most recent response.
  7. I'm a contractor so I do bill for my time at a decent rate. My time is not worth less than a body shops. So with the cost of parts I don't see it as a very good (or fair offer).
  8. New offer is $6967.66 (if I keep it of course). I might take it.
  9. Unfortunately I have been getting a very stiff neck and headaches. Could have been worse though.
  10. She will be in a full-sized truck with every safety feature available. And sometimes my 1964 el camino, My first car that I still own.
  11. I have contacted 3 and they all said that my injuries are not serious enough for them to make money on. I have another doctors appointment in 2 weeks. I believe there is more to my neck injury than was first diagnosed.
  12. I plan on keeping it making it better than before. But I might sell it in the future. I own a Comanche as my daily driver because it was a way to drive a dependable vehicle that meets my needs as a contractor (and Comanches are cool as heck) . But it doesn't really meet my needs all that well. I could really use more towing capacity. The truth is a modern half-ton truck would be of more utility to me. And I do like the idea of a larger vehicle with air bags all over. I have a 4 month old baby so that plays into my thinking here.
  13. More info coming soon.
  14. I'm not wise enough yet at my age to take a loss and move on. JUSTICE!!
  15. Poor writing on my part. They allow their ow customers to get independent appraisals, but not people like me who their clients screw over by running red lights.
  16. Now they re saying that they will only accept the appraisal of independent appraisers if they are with progressive. Maybe in your region of the county. I would have to drive 3 hours or more to reach the next population center. Check out Eureka, Ca on a map.
  17. Update: Progressive is claiming that my truck was worth $6,980. They rejected all comps I provided saying that they only look at vehicles within 150 miles and the same model year. They called a couple local car dealers and asked them for estimated values. The adjuster is speaking with his manager to see what else they might be able to do. Including if they will accept the valuation of an independent professional auto appraiser. In short so far they are trying to screw me.
  18. Was that your Was it your red one with the L33? I am familiar with the value of a hydraulic ram. Probably headed the same route you took.
  19. I am meeting with the adjuster tomorrow. I'd gladly take those screenshots if you have them.
  20. Thanks for the information! Its been about 20 years since i was in an auto collision, I'm pretty ignorant as to how to handle things.
  21. True. I will defiantly some new control arms and who knows what else suspension wise.
  22. Yep. Ill need a fender, hood, radiator, control arm and who knows what else. I have already been working 6-7 days a week and my schedule is packed so its hard to see when I would be able to do any of this work.
  23. Thanks for all the responses guys!
  24. Unfortunately we don't have a real junkyard for hundreds of miles. But I might have to do something like this
