well i want to use the "Comanche" one but the problem is i only have one and the vehicle would look silly with just one on the driver side and none on the passenger side same thing with the 4X4 one and the Command trac is not going to be vacuum controlled any more so i really don't need that then the XLS only looks good if its chromed and it needs to be near some other letters or numbers like 4.0XLS or in my case 3.4XLS other wise when you look at it it just won't look good

if i have no success in fixing my old one i may have to just stop by there and take a look

i can double check but usually when you go to pick a part or pull n save they have a lot of vehicles but about 60 % of the parts on the vehicles are missing and they charge you to enter the yard so if you pay money an just show up and find out that your out of luck its super disappointing :fs1:

i have no clue what version i have but here is a pic of it and you can tell me unfortunately some one ripped out the lower bottom piece of it i feel so sad when i look at it cause it looks like the previous owner did not take very good care of it :(

i live by Phoenix i agree with you they did make a lot of them but what the guy was trying to say was there are a lot of people calling him and asking for one so that means that most of them have been bought up around this area i was able to find one but its a 3 hour drive to the junkyard and the guy wants like 50 bucks for it i told him he can go kick rocks

if the plastic ones can not be restored i might paint them or i might just throw them away unless someone else wants them

there is a special AMC salvage yard here in Arizona and even the guy that works there said to me "your looking for a what, center console, those are impossible to find in this city your better off just making a new one" after calling a bunch of other regular junk yards i come to realize hes right :(

thanks for the help Minuit but i think i can fix mine for way less then the price of a replacement and i don't even have the key for the latch so i think I'm just going to replace it with a new one

yes i see that the dual diaphragm brake booster is better because it pushes out more pressure but I'm just going to keep it simple and put a new regular one for now i also got a new flare wrench set it the SAE one i thought that since the vehicle is made in the USA it would not have any metric size nuts on it

i really don't care about the color because i am repainting the entire inside of the vehicle black so i just need it to be in good condition so that i can paint over it and i have tried looking at junk yards i live in Arizona and after calling 20 places no one carries jeeps that are older then year 2000 also can you explain how the fiberglass procedure works do i just throw it on there and let it dry then sand it smooth and paint over it ???

i was wondering if anyone has ever attempted to fix a cracked dash i was hoping that some company sells a filler and then i can just paint over it to make it look like new is it even possible to fix ?

so i was wondering if it was possible to restore the letters and logos so that they will appear as new but from what i have seen it looks like i can only restore the 4 JEEP letters since they are all metal and all the other stuff is plastic so i will probably just have to repaint them the main reason why I'm asking is because there is most likely someone else that has already tried doing this so i was wondering if they could give me any advice

hi guys i was wondering if anyone could take a pic of there Throttle and Down Shift cable wire bracket my 86 MJ did not have one and the only replacement that i could find was from a XJ the XJ bracket has two square holes (one on the left and one on the right) it appears that the MJ had one round hole on the left and a square hole on the right my gas cable pops in and works fine but as you can see my tranny cable is just hanging there because it does not fit in the hole i was hoping that after i see a MJ one i could modify mine to to work like a MJ one Thanks

sounds like you could take a pic of that stuff and try to sell it before you pick it lol

who would even bother going threw that much work you have to hook up all the sensors to the dash that would take forever

i was gonna lock over the CAD and just remove all of those passenger side vacuum lines then plug up what ever i can't remove that pic of the fluid sentinel looks really kool to bad my MJ doesn't have all those upgraded sensors installed in it also i just realized that i accidentally labeled the post as "Sigma Six Display" i was actually thinking of a (Seven Segment Display Bus) sorry for the confusion you guys here's what i meant by 7 S.D.B. this is the electronic piece in the dash that actually display all the warning lights and such on the Left Side of the dash

the truck is suppose to have a 2.8 but the one in the pic is a 3.4 i would be more then happy to see anybody with a 2.8 or a in-line 4 anything would help even is someone posts a diagram of what it might look like

i see thats why i want to keep it cause it would be easier to reuse it and save me time to work on all the other stuff but does anybody know what i have to do to get the light to turn on once i bypass the vac system and engage the 4WD
