Update,put on new crank position sensor,still want start.I also put a new MAP sensor ,still want crank.I ordered a new ICM and a new coil I am going to try those this weekend.Not firing ,getting plenty of fuel just no spark.Any help will be greatly appreciated.Thanks. -

Filled with gas yesterday while it was running ,but not running well ,made it another 6-8 miles turned it off.It hasn't started up since.Took bonnet off of throttle body,injector is spraying plenty of gas into throttle body to start. -

Update,will not crank at all now, spins over ,getting fuel but no spark.I took CPS off and cleaned it, magnet works good on it,it looked like it had been replaced recently.I put it back on and tried it again but no spark. Come on Guys,I had to leave at my Moms house and get her to bring me home,because I had to go back to work in the morning. Only 200 miles away!!! Please help!!! -
Hey everybody ,went on trip yesterday about 200 miles from home.Truck did great .It was running fine when I cutoff engine yesterday.Went out and cranked it today has a bad miss now with hardly any power. It is also hard to crank you just have to keep on cranking on it when it tries to crank until it finally catches and cranks but still runs terrible it has been tuned up has new gas tank,new fuelpump,new gas gilter,new fuel injector.I have not replaced O2 sensor ,Tps sensor,Cps or map.has new coil pack,new plug wires ,newplugs,new distributor cap and rotor button.It is a 4 cyl.150 ,4 speed,throttle body injecy I on. ANY HELP WILL GREATLY BE APPRECIATED.THANKS

They may have been , I just had a guy put on a new tank and fuel pump for me.All he said was that he made sure they were open because he had to change them from the old to the new tank. I tightened the cap down today and gonna see what happens now.

What type of gas cap would go on my 86 with 2.5 manual tranny? It has a replacement one on it ,but not sure if it's right or not . It is a vacuum cap. in the summer when it's real hot it would make the tank pop in and out making a loud noise so I would leave it a little loose.It was getting around 20 mpg ,but has dropped down to 16 since I loosened the cap. Thanks for your input.

Yeah it probaly is stripped out,I looked at it with a bright flashlight and can't see any markings in the hole like an allen or torx head. Thanks anyways. -

Hi,could someone tell me how to remove the fuel pressure inlet plug where the fuel goes into the TBI.It just has a round hole in it.I need to get it out so I can put a pressure gauge on it to check fuel pressure. Thanks.

yeah just took old one out ,put new one in and plug it back up. no other electrical work. it just continues to run after cutting truck off.

Hey Guys, I just installed a new fuel tank and new fuel pump . Got truck running and when you cut ignition off ,the fuel pump is continuing to run. I don't understand, the old one cut off when you turned ignition off like it suppose to. What could be my problem ? Thanks.

Okay,not what I wanted to hear but I suppose I will put a new one in the tank.. I just thought it would work ,they use external ones on fuel injected race cars.,mounted on fenders under the hood or somewhere along the frame rails. Thanks for the info,Double Six.

one reason is they are easier to deal with and you don't have to fight with trying to get the things in and out of the tanks. I have always thought that was a bad idea to put something electrical inside a gas tank .If it won't work why want it?

Harbor Freight Tow Bar Questions

I have one from there, and pulled a Plymouth barracuda from Ohio to Alabama with no problems.Just drill a hole in bumper and when you are done with it put a bumper bolt back in the hole. -
Got the test light out ,climbed under truck pulled the fuel pump connector harness apart where it plugs in to another plug .I had power there.I checked the orange wire where it connects to the pump on the outside near the lines and had power there.So I am assuming the pump was one of the cheap ones that was not any good.I am ordering a Bosch from rock auto and will see if that was the problem.

it's an 86 model with the 2.5 On the bracket that holds the 3 relays there is a metal relay that has two electrical conectors that go on the bottom. it is held on the bracket with a small bolt .it looks sort of like a starter solenoid .in the manual i don't see anything that looks like it .anybody know what it might be.
