Ok so you could bolt on a intake and carb to a 4.0 from the 4.2 and it should work. Thanks for the help

I have a 89 4.0 Renix motor out of a Cherokee for sale. A guy wants to buy it and put into his 78 CJ5 Does anybody know what the difference is, he is wondering if the heads are the same? And could he bolt his intake and carb to my Head? His motor is a 258 4.2. I'm not sure if he plans on using the whole motor or just the head, so the question is will and intake from a 4.2 bolt to a renix 4.0? Thanks again

I have a dana 35 with 3.55 out of a Cherokee. I'll sell cheap! but I'm in northwest Indiana, LaPorte 46350

I will bring that big bow tie but it will be towing my MJ. That thing cost way too much to play with. I guess i have a week to work on Momma
-
Gota check with momma first. Ya i'm not afraid dents, at all. Not having any locked axles is gona really hurt me on some of those trails. But i guess there is all ways the dunes.

Hey Rob you have seen my blue MJ would it make it around at the badlands? I've there a lot on a quad, but never in a truck just wondering if my little MJ would be fun or would i be stuck all day?

Ok, i change the speed'o sensor and still nothing, the new sensor came with a new pigtail so i spliced that into they wiring and whala it works! So was it the plug or the sensor? I don't care its fixed!!

It's a 4.0 5speed BA/10 4x4. 89 jeep, but its a 91 drive train. So its a not a cable driven speed'o A plug with wires plug into the back of the gauges. I have an older cable driven dash, will that work with my newer style? I'm asking cause i haven't taken mine apart yet to even see the difference.
-
My speedo just quit, all of my other gauges work, it's still plugged in to the trans. Can a speedo it self just quit? Will and older dash with a cable in put work? Or would it be best to look for another plug in one.

still looking for a Comanche?

The 231 is a 21 and i haven't separated the 242 and the BA/10 to count yet, unless there is a different way? One came out a 89 MJ and the other a 89 XJ I was assuming they were both 21 but like i said i have checked both yet.
-
I'm actually planning on selling it once i piece it back together and put that money toward my other MJ that's basically rust free. So maybe i should keep the 231 for myself and put the 242 back in my rusty MJ. What do you mean by Part Time and Full Time?

I have 2 transfer Cases One says 242 and the other 231 both say 272 ratio. My question is, is one better than the other? Are these interchangeable? The reason i ask, my peugeot to a puck so i pulled it and the t-case, i have this extra t-case that came with my new ba/10. I was running the 242 before and had no problems with it. So i was planning on just sticking with it, unless someone tells me different.
-
Ya its a peugeot, There is a round cover or the "end" of it that i took off cause i couldn't get the TC and trans to separate, maybe i need a bigger hammer. I can see its still on your trans in the pic.
-
Well looks like i went one cover too far, thanks for the pic.
-
Does anybody have a pic of the back side of a BA/10 Puegote trans with the transfer case removed? I separated mine and it wouldn't come apart were i thought it should. So i move forward and got it to separate but there is some gears showing. Is that right?

Did I Blow Out My Slave Cylinder?
XXLMJ replied to Drahcir495's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Try and bleed your master to be sure its still making pressure, then you can be sure its the slave. My slave went bad this week to so i know how you feel. -
Its a BA/10, Puetgot I assume its an internal slave.
-
Does anyone know for sure if i have to drop the trans to change the slave? I'm almost positive i have too.
-
I bled the master down at the trans and it had plenty of pressure, so I'm guessing bad Slave?
-
I have been having to push in my clutch pedal further everyday it seems to get the clutch to engage. It seems to have a lot of free play in it. So Today it got so bad it was getting hard to shift so i thought i would bleed it. And it didn't seem to have any air in it now i have no pressure on the pedal at all. This all has happen in the last 4 days or so. The fluid level is full and never went empty but the fluid looks very dirty. Any ideas?

Well, it will have spark there. I'm not sure if you can use a meter on that part.
-
I have noticed that too, bout a week ago there was 3 tail lights that went over $100 too. Whats the deal?
-
The first thing i would do is get a fuel pressure tester and see what your fuel pressure is. Then get a spark tester and see if you have spark. Eliminate a couple problems. Yes to bypass the the ceramic resistor on you fender wall you jump the 2 wires together.
