  4. Alot of their stuff is very good, and how you take care of things matters alot. I like their stuff for the most part
  5. I really don't see the new Jeep Truck all that appealing compared to an mj...JMO I an worried it will be more of a mall crawler instead of a trail piece. I know things seem to go that way and even though it is based off the wrangler i believe it will be lacking..Hard to justify buying it just to have to put 10k in it to do what you really want to do...

    37k mile MJ

Wow.......You will never see a more factory truck in better shape than that
  7. Yes if possible that would be greatly appreciated.
  8. Ok glad I wasnt the only one who goes there..
  9. Go to napa and get a combustion gas test kit. It will tell you if you have a blown gasket or cracked head. I'm leaning toward head cracked. Its a cheap kit like 15 or so dollars. Will tell you for certain, its frustrating i know.
  10. They have a harbor freight thread of tools that are worth it or not. i was wondering could we start a tool thread here kinda in the same fashion. Alot of my tools have been used for other than their intended purpose, plus homemade tools ya know.... if this is something maybe we could do, thought it might be nice to have one?
  11. I like to use dropbox. Free and works really well.
  12. nnnooooooooo-no-no-no-no. know what you want first. if you expect this truck to ever look nice, then a solid, rust-free body is a top priority. body rot is a real bear on these trucks and the rocker/pans/bedsides (the most common rot) that are available in the aftermarket are of poor quality. :( don't voluntarily start with a headache when there are plenty of better ones out there. don't be afraid to look further south and out west. now, if this is just a trail beater, than you have more options (though I personally still would never settle for a rusty truck because I hate fighting that fight). what are the end goals for the truck? what is your skill set? Makes a lot of sense. This will be my second Comanche. I was a member on here before but can't quite remember my user name and have since changed emails. It was either Scout555 or Triple Nickle. Thanks Pete for the advice
  13. Thanks everyone. I really appreciate all the info. I'm actively seeking a Comanche in any condition. I'm gonna try to look in the classified if it will let me start a new topic. Wish me luck...
  14. Looking for a project me for my son. We want to build it together for his 16th birthday. I have been reading a lot of threads on here and have noticed a lot of them never get finished. Is it a parts are hard to find thing or something else. We live in Tennessee and search craigslist and golsn all the time. All the ones we find are always trashed, Or don't have titles. So what are some of the problems you all run across the most
  15. Round trip to work and back 35miles. Plus a trip or two from Tennessee to Ohio. As far as budget, I have between 3k and 5k to spend on the truck total.
  16. how much lift do you think I will have with a soa and stock sb 89 4x4 leafs? 5-6.5 inches depending on the condition of the leafs and the perch used. follow up question, why are you contemplating that much lift? Because I didnt want to use lift blocks.
  17. how much lift do you think I will have with a soa and stock sb 89 4x4 leafs?
  18. I have 4.10s with just a 30 or 31 tire. 95% on road with maybe just a hunting trail or so.
  19. Do you have any issues with spring wrap?
  20. Would you guys post some pics of your soa setups. My truck is a on road 90% of the time type of truck, I have a dana 35 in the rear of my 89 sb 4x4 comanche. My new dana 35 is out of a cherokee. Here are my questions.. Where did you get your perches? I want the weld on ones. Was spring wrap a problem? How did you fix it, if it was? What did you do for shock mounts? Pics would be awesome..... Thanks guys
  21. Thanks guys. I would be lost without you guys :waving:
  22. Ok guys made my perches, now what angle should I set the pinion angle at for a 89 sb 4x4 comanche using stock springs? Thanks.
  23. No my truck is already a 4x4, but it has craptastic 3.07s  It is the front and rear out of a 86 cherokee wagoneer. They are 4.10s in both the front and rear. I remember someone on here saying that NO DANA 35 ever had a screw in fill plug on the cover. That is why I was confused. The cover looks somewhat different from a normal 35 cover to me as well. The outter edge of the cover looks okay, but the inner part seems beefier? :dunno: I worked out the difference in rpm as well for both the 3.07s and 4.10s. 4.10s would be like 2450 rpms @ 70. vs 1860 rpms @70 for the 3.07s. What would you guys do? Thanks
  24. If it isn't already? http://www.manoian.net/jeep/gear_ratio_calculator.html
