  1. i also did away with my sloppy steering and upgraded to some heavy duty goodness. it took me a little bit to figure it out but i got it on and she steers great! iron rock offroad makes an awesome setup and i only got the 1/2 bolt version because i wanted to be able to revert back to stock if i wanted.
  2. well guys i took some days off work so i could get some things done that ive been neglecting on the jeep. so with out further ado i give you... \ finally mounted on my krustyballer sliders. i tried the whole nutsert thing and it ripped them out so i broke the arch welder out and stitched them on.
  3. i got tired of my spare 33 laying in the back on the bed so i got ambitious this weekend and decided to make a carrier for it i could have spent a little more time on it but the humidity was killing me so good enough for now.
  4. well guys i went to go to work last Tuesday and found my pitman arm seal seal let loose lucky my local napa got the seals in the same day for me. friday i did my wiper trans. bushings. also the over the weekend i had to replace my ball joints. while i was at it i replaced the lower control arms with some rough country ones. i forgot to take pics.
  5. so after i swapped my sensors all was well, or i thought so. started it yesterday and it shot to 3k and sat there. unplugged the iac and plugged it back in, went back down so idk what thats about.
  6. Man I should have asked first. But all well live and learn
  7. Wenter to the junkyard today. And got a whole cluster. Swapped it in the trunk and still bounced. Ended up that it was my cable routing I guess. So I moved it so the cable is a bit smoother and the turns flow a bit better. Well see how it works. Also I had a high idle/stalling issue. I determined it to be the tps. Wow did I have sticker shock. 110 for the tps and 60 for the iac valve. Swapped in the tps using cruiser54s tips and so far the truck is 99% better.
  8. i have 5.5 inches of lift on factory steering but it looks like my drag link ever so slightly rubs the sway bar link perch on the axle. anyone else run into that?
  9. well guys i got my new cable and gear for the speedometer. but i still have a lot of cable bounce. I'm wondering if i have a bad speedometer. i chucked the cable in a drill and it still bounced so i have no clue. does anyone know anything i can try? thanks for all the compliments guys.
  10. just some back log photos
  11. well its been a roller coaster of a ride with the jeep. i did a sye kit and had to drive in front wheel drive till i got my adams driveshaft. i developed a power steering leak and an oil leak. then my starter gave up the ghost on the 4th of July. and now after knowing i have needed a speedometer cable for a month, i lost the speedometer. from the cable binding in the sleeve it put enough pressure on the gear in the t-case which blew all the teeth off the gear. with all this going on i found my cross member bolts had started to strip out. so i re-tapped the nutserts to 7/16-14 and drilled the others out and nut and bolted them in.
  12. I'll have to look into it a little later down the road
  13. Huh so that takes the place of the factory crossmember and locates the arms to the x member. Looks decent but if I'd have to change the clutch wouldn't my axle want to walk around? If the crossmember is down the lowers aren't holding anything still. Correct?
  14. You might be on to something there
  15. I thought about iro ones. But I'm looking into a drive shaft issue right now. For some reason the whole thing wants to walk around on the slip yoke. It makes a clunking noise when pulling out. But it's fine in reverse
  16. Yes it's a scrapped off every time. My father he attacked it with a file and took down all the pitting. I bought some gaskets off ebay, theyre the felpro one and they seem way better then the crappy napa sticky side ones. Anyway I took it all off again today. I filed the head a little more and used the felpro one with some permatex #2 suggested by the napa guys I trust. I ran it till hot and no leak. I took it down the road and so far so good. So fingers crossed.
  17. Well two gaskets and some silicon later and it still leaks. I'm at a loss here
  18. nice build man. I'm jealous of the clean body.
  19. well it seems that its one thing after another with this truck. got it all back together and fuel started blowing out of the feed line. somehow my o-rings went missing, throw some new ones on and no leak. then the thermostat gasket started leaking that i just replaced with the freeze plugs. take it off and i siliconed it up. well when i put i back on the goose neck broke before the bolts got tight. bought one for an ho cherokee and put it on, that one leaks. so tomorrow ill be taking it back off to silicone this one. hopefully this works cause I'm really getting sick of playing with my coolant system.
  20. thanks guys! i was heading to work on tuesday and have to move the trash cans. i thought this was a pretty good picture also found out i had a coolant leak and where it was. two of my freeze plugs started to weep. well a trip to napa and i had all the things to replace all 5. i used gasket shalack ( i think that's how you spell it) around the mounting area of the plug. also found out that i broke the 02 sensor and no one seems to have one in stock around here. so I'm out my truck for two days. bummer.
  21. well guys on Saturday it finally happened. after six months of working on the truck it finally became road legal! i have to say the truck really get noticed on the road. even people at the gas station were asking me" where did you find this thing". it drives awesome tons of power thanks to the 4:10s in the rear. no death wobble or anything of the sort. i can let go of the wheel on the highway doing 75 and it shoots straight as an arrow. i love it the work and money was so worth the payoff.
  22. i got the new rims last Thursday and with the help of my cousin got them mounted and balanced after work. they look pretty good and really do the truck justice it takes the pain of swapping the rims in the first place down a bit.
  23. okay for i finally got photo bucket to start working again. so let the back log pictures begin. this when i did the new hub bearing and u joints new gas tank vs. the old one. major difference.
  24. thanks guys yeah pa is a little funny with things. being we have a yearly inspection everything gets checked. but that being said if it leaves the factory with them they are 100 legal. my 85 iroc actually has little 1/8 one from the factory. but aftermarket are okay as long as it doesn't exceed 1/4. and the 1 1/4 would have been a little over that lol.
