  2. these questions I cannont answer its how i got the beast
  3. didnt think it was carburated since it has Fuel injectors....... AM I wrong?

  5. wondering if anyone has vacuum hose specs for my 1989 4.0 5 speed 2wd
  6. Yes I will check that tuesday This truck has no interior upolstry on the floors, so I would think I would have seen a puddle ?
  7. Also I did see the EGR just wasnt sure if it was it or not. I didnt see any bolts holding it in posistion how to remove it? very tight in this location. If I remove the airbox cover all the hoses will need to be replace most likely cause there is a decent amount deterioration where the hoses connects to the box (all of them)
  8. good to know cause its on the low mark I wasnt sure what that little res was for now I do thanks a bunch. The person that owned this said he didnt want it anymore cause it started to stall when pressing the clutch in and coming to a stop or slowing down to take a turn.. when I worked on it today i pulled the oil dipstick and it only had about .5 inch on the stick...Being that low is enough to make it stall from not enough oil pressure? Not sure.. But I cleaned the throttle body today it was black and pulled the air filter it was also black and oily towards the back of the box. Planning on making a oil catch, does anyone have pics of theirs?
  9. sorry I was wrong here are the exterior photos
  10. those are all the pics I got right now its not at my house its at a friends house where I'm working on it till I get My new house hopefully next weekend near his house. I will be working on it tuesday maybe depending on the weather. In my other post there are some exterior pics
  11. 3 of the plugs weren't pushed all the way down on the distributor when i worked on it today I cleaned the TB and all the ground points I was going to drive it today but I broke the neg terminal connectior bolt and didnt have a spare with me. Hopefully I can drive it tuesday. Also was wondering if anyone can tell me how to put clutch oil in this thing
  12. Lol knew someone would say something about the fram this is how I got the rig... 400$ its 1989 4.0 5 speed Manual 2wd
  13. I couldnt figure out what kind of transmission it has in it.. shouldnt there be a plate somewhere? also having a hard time finding the EGR valve
  14. my situation is my 1989 4.0 2wd standard is at someone elses house and I need to know what tools to bring there. I need to know what size the nut is that holds all the grounds to the dipstick tube stud. and also need to know what size torque the intake hose is attached to the TB with. also need to know if I expose the TB for cleaning do I need to replace any gaskets. This being said the reason I ask is because when the manche is driving and the clutch is pressed in it stalls. So I figured I would clean/ upgrade the engine to firewall ground, add a ground wire from the neg terminal to the radiator bracket and replace the ground wire for the fuel pump( which I might skip cause it starts and idles fine.Opinions welcome.) and clean the TB and hope the problem is fixed. If this doesnt fix the issue what direction should I turn to next.
  15. no they are round about 2 times the size of the shock
  16. under the new 88 mj and noticing a big black boot behind the rear shocks anyone elnighten me to what these are my driver side one looks true but the passenger side looks crunched a little
  17. idk he said it started stalling after he replaced the battery terminal that broke off somehow i didnt ask how that happened. how many ground wires should be attached the the neg post? kinda seems funny for a fuse box to be near the clutch cylinder.....
  18. I'm mostly looking to see what their mj stock battery hook ups. I am looking to buy a 1988 mj for 400 bucks the person selling it says it stalls when he disengages the clutch upon coming to a stop. My guess is maybe its due for a TB cleaning its got 180k on it and i doubt its been done in its lifetime. Any other ideas that might cause this issue before I drop $$ into the fuel system. I'm hoping its just a ground or vacuum issue
