  1. Thanks man... yeah I was headed to clover to do a lil work. Its still got a long way to go but at least I'm getting to drive it now. Its funny Ive got a 99 cherokee that runs great but Id rather drive my Comanche that has loose steering and wobbles @ 55.... :dunno:
  2. got a lil more done this weekend.... Picked up a top from a fellow CC member... painted it black to match the truck, its not a perfect match but it'll seve my purpose.... Also since I found my torx bits I pulled the tail lights and polised them up and painted em up a lil... figured while I had em out I might as well do a LED conversion... its not prefect but it's still a......
  3. Thanks... lol The floorpans had been replaced by the PO and both front fenders. I had to welld up the pansbetter b/c water would come in if you drove it in the rain. My last comanche was 1000x worse.... yeah I couldnt find my torx bits to remove the screws so I taped them up... of course as soon as I was done taping I found them. I'm not the most organized.....
  4. You make me sick..... ..... with ENVY
  5. Hey guys, I don't post much, more of a lurker. :typing: Ive learned alot from this forum so I just figured Id share my truck .. It's a work in progress... In the beginning.... First time I tried to fill it up it poured gas all over the ground due to a quarter size hole in the gas tank near the filler neck .... so ... new gas tank... Had a lil rust (insert sarcasm)... Fixed it... Did some other body work and sanded it smooth... The spraydown... Rustoleum Flat Black mixed one part thinner to 4 parts paint and sprayed with an electric paint sprayer. I did it with the electric sprayer b/c I wanted the texture that it leaves. Almost looks rhino lined but alot easier to remove if needed and cheaper to repair... The results.... Ive also swapped the radiator for a new late model cherokee rad and dual electric fans. My plans are to swap in an 8.8 rear, AW4 with manual shifter, remove PO's um..."budget lift", 4.5 long arm, 35" tires, 4.56 gears, and lockers... but I'm broke so this may take a while... Thanks for looking....

  11. I was reading in another thread about the different ratios of different boxes. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=33825 Before my Comanche I had a 98 TJ and one of the best upgrades that I did was the steering box off of a '99 Dodge Durango. I'm not sure what the ratio was on the box but I do know that it was a direct bolt in swap, was a slightly larger(stronger) box, and made my TJ handle much better on the trail. My question is would this be a possible swap for the Comanche, has anyone done this, and does anyone know what the ratio is on this box compared to the others... mabey a good upgrade for our trucks too... :wrench:
  12. Ok for some odd reason now my 89 won't start. I dropped the fuel tank to remove the bed and thats when the trouble began. It will turn over and gets spark but the fuel pump won't come on. I hot wired the fuel pump and it is working. I checked the fuel pump relay and it comes on but then a few sec later it cuts off but the pump never comes on. Also after checking the wires at the relay I never get anything on the orange wire coming from the ECM. Is there any advice that you guys could give me as to what to check next... or mabey a bypass... any help would be appreciated!!
  13. Hey guy's I'm new here but thought Id put up my Comanche. She's not much to look at but has an excellent drivetrain.
