  2. I found this page it gave me the percentages I needed I typed in the original tire size 205/75/15 and then size I have on there 215/75/15 and it gave me a 2.2% difference. now with that said it had 30 inch tires on the truck when I bought it. I think that someone might have changed the gear already. it does read faster on the speedo then I am actually going. this is according to the GPS on 2 different phones and with that, 2 different apps. www.miata.net/garage/tirecalcold.html
  3. I always seem to be able to brake them loos hitting with sledge hammer toward the vehicle. I like the idea about the slam on brakes
  4. if I know how far off my speedo is, let say 4 mph so if I'm doing 55mph speedo says 59. how can I figure out the actual miles on my trip. can I times miles on trip by .4 then add the 2 together?
  5. 1991 Jeep Comanche long box big ton will post photos later 4.0 HO / 5 speed ax15?/ 272 ratio according to tag/ dana 44 rear/ I don't know the wheel base MFG date is 4/91 The truck and I are in Minnesota about 45 min south west of Minneapolis I bought this truck about 1 month ago for 300$. It has been sitting since 2006. All I did to make it run and drive was change out gas and replace the clutch master cylinder. since then I have rewired the headlights and license plate light, oil change, serpentine belt and shocks all around. it is now licensed for the road and drivable. This truck has original paint it is green and has the pinstripes down the sides with PIONEER at the tail. The interior of the truck is tan with bucket seats. It has a sliding glass window in rear with a sticker " big ton 2205" and NO electric locks, windows or seats. non stock radio "pioneer tape deck" :) I have a topper that came with the truck but I have since removed it and put in a truck tool box, I plan on putting the topper back on for winter. I also have a 1987 jeep wrangler that my dad gave me. It has a 3 inch body lift and 35 inch tires. about 2 years ago I removed the drivetrain and still am planning on installing one of the two choices :Chevy 350 on my garage floor or taking the 4.3 vortec and drive train from my 1994 blazer I don't know if I want to deal with the electronics with the blazer. if anyone has questions about this truck please ask. I have been at this web site daily since I found it, checking out the other threads and asking some questions myself. PS. I have picks on photo bucket but my pc browser locks up w/ darkened screen when I try to add photos I will figure this out soon, I hope. I took like 15-20 picks just for this post. Thanks for reading mike EDIT: I run vin number and it comes up as 91 my title shows 92 it may be a 91 and dmv is wrong?
  6. that is a great list. I will defiantly look into the ground system as many other thing on this list. thank you very much it seems everything is good except the headlight issue. the truck was stored in a garage. so far all I did was replace the master cylinder for the clutch and serpentine belt. I also did oil and gas change. she is running great and on the road. it is a 1992 long box pioneer with the dana 44 rear I paid 300$ and very happy. there is a sticker in rear window that says big ton 2205 I think this means it is just a heavy rear end for hulling?
  7. well I have done what you said I have power to driver side with low beam and none with high. on passenger side I have no power with low beam and I do with high. I am taking this to the fact that it sat for 8 years since 06, and that mice could have gotten up in there. I ran 3 jumper wires from one headlight to the other and now both work I think I need that wire harness for the front clip. I do thank you for the diagram this has helped confirm what I found.
  8. my problem is when I turn on the head lights only the passenger side works (low beam) I will then switch to high beam and only driver side works. I was wondering can I use a jump wire between the 2 of them to make both work or is there any better solution? I found out that when I switch from low to high the polarity switches at the plug? is this correct? sorry but I am new to the forum I also have a 1987 wrangler that I have been building
