  1. Didn't want to make my own thread, but I'm also new to Jeep. Picked up an 89 Comanche a couple weeks ago. Runs pretty good, except it has some wobble between 45-55 mph. Not much in the way of AC either, but it's alright since I have a beater car with no AC, and my first car was a 66 Mustang also with no AC. Kinda wish it had cloth seats, but the original owners recovered the seats a few years ago and they look really good. The truck was originally a maroon color, but they repainted it silver a few years ago. Came with the original 10-spoke "turbine" looking wheels, I think I'm going to put those back on when I need to buy the next set of tires. There's a little dent in the driver's door, but nothing major. Gonna be changing the oil tomorrow hopefully...or maybe tonight. The wife is gone and I have an empty garage space. Need to find my jack & jackstands (and a beer!)
  2. Had a guy drive up beside of me today on my way to work and give me the thumbs up. He rolled down the window and yelled "You NEVER see these anymore! Good lookin truck!". Totally unexpected! I'm kind of used to it from my DeLorean days and when I drive the lime green Mustang, but wasn't expecting it driving the Comanche. Pretty cool.
  3. Well, went and picked it up today. Seems to have death wobble. That'll be the first thing I address on the truck. Doesn't seem to be any other problems after driving it back home.
  4. https://cf.searchtempest.com/go-1.1.html#http%3A//jacksonville.craigslist.org/cto/4476629633.html Wow. Interior looks like it rolled off the showroom floor.
  5. http://hickory.craigslist.org/cto/4443475775.html Still looking for a truck. This looks like a nice example, but it's out of my price range. I could offer him maybe $4k or $4500, but I doubt he'd bite. Just listing it for anyone else out there who is looking.
  6. If that was near NC, I'd buy it tomorrow. Good looking truck.
  7. It is not that one, it's in North Carolina. I appreciate the advice and it confirms what I thought as well. He said it doesn't appear to be burning coolant right now and no cross contamination so probably a simple fix. As long as the block is not cracked I think its a good by for a $500 professional repair. (I would attempt it myself, but friends truck, friends rules :laughin: .....) Probably this one: http://charlotte.craigslist.org/cto/4389097234.html
  8. Hi guys, new to the forum. Looking for a Comanche (or perhaps the 'ol Toyota Pickup), came across this: http://charlotte.craigslist.org/cto/4435726509.html I don't particularly need the toolbox, definitely don't need the sound system. Seems kinda high though. I was thinking of offering $4k. Just curious to see what some seasoned Comanche vets think.
