  1. The head on mine was a 1/4 inch. It was driving me crazy trying to find the right MM. I have an 86 and it seems that about half the bolts are MM and the other half are standard. I just keep both sets of sockets handy now.
  2. OK, Well on this subject I have a question, I am pulling a 2.8 and installing a 4.0 (1998) yr model from a donor Cherokee. Will the electric pump fit in my tank or will I have to “Develop” a solution on my own? Will the Cherokee tank fit under the Comanche? I am thinking this will be the biggest challenge of the project. Oh mine is a 1986 4X4 with auto, going back auto.
  3. The 2.8 in my Comanche lasted 112,000 miles and then went quietly into the night. # 4 cyl developed a rather large hole in the piston, never made any noise or gave any clue it was going, it just went. It’s all good, the other guy would of never sold her to me if it had kept running.
  4. Nice looking ride. Congrats!!
  5. Well, I gave it a good shot of WD-40 and worked on it a few hr, still no go. So I did what anyone with a Air grinder would do! I cut the nut off the stud! Split the sucker and then took a hammer and punch and just knocked it off. So now the seat is out and I can start my floor pan repair. And I hear what your saying Babyblack, Rosted Comanche isnt a very good appetizer.
  6. Ok guys, and gals, I am in the process of removing the interior of my 86 Comanche. First real problem, the bench seat. Of the 8 bolts that hold it in, only 1 came off. The rest are just spinning but the nuts are not moving. I looked under the truck and can't see anything to grab on to, so before I break out the chop saw, can anyone tell me if there is a better way? :dunno:
  7. I'm glad to see you pulled it off, gives me hope for mine. I just purchased a 86 with the trusty (LOL) 2.8 in her. Its already sitting in the floor of my garage. I found a nice 98 XJ with 120,000 miles on it that I have purchased. So I will be following in your footsteps soon.
