ill have to crawl underneath this week and see if i can find it! it doesnt bother me too much to have the code/check engine light but the shift indicator being off is annoying to me.

it would be a floor shifter. i assumed the transmission from the 97+ cherokee was swapped over but never confirmed that. ill have to do some research and see if i can confirm the trans is from a 97+

Hey everyone. My 1988 comanche has a 97+ interior/engine/obd2 swap and the check engine light is on. I ran a scan and the error code is P0705 ( Transmission range sensor circuit malfunction) I believe this has something to do with my PRND being off. what I mean by that is when the jeep is in park the orange on the shifter shows it on the P. but when the jeep is in reverse the orange thing on the shifter is in the "blank" space between the P and the R. then when the vehicle is in N it shows that it is on R and so on. is there a simple fix to this? what could be the issue here? ive never ran into this issue before.

This was my original "to do" list. Bold is what has been done so far. 1. Move the gas tank from the bed to under the bed 2. Get it running and driving 100% (has a slight rattle when idling could be a flexplate bolt) 3. New rear bumper 4. 97+ manual doors (need to be installed still) 5. New headliner (also needs to be installed still) 6. Weld up the exhaust 7. Notch customs fender flares 8. Cheap paint job (Rattle canned it) 9. Rust proof the underbody for the upcoming winter 10. Eventually get most of the JCR goodies like the Roof rack, Crusader bumper, Bed rack etc just used some krylon spray paint to help protect the comanche for this upcoming winter. also painted my topper with the same paint. looks a lot better in person now since its mostly one color now! ill post some photos of the topper tomorrow.

They really grew on me alot 🙈 maybe I'll use those as the winter wheels and the others as summer wheels.

got the comanche back the other day from getting a TJ gas tank installed. plan to take it in tomorrow to get the wheels swapped out. still needs the radio/speakers installed and I'm also thinking about throwing the topper from my old comanche onto this one for the winter.

my JK8 new vs now. jk8s are super fun the only downside is i wish the bed was another foot or two longer. gets tons of attention whenever I drive it.

I almost bought one 5-6 years ago. I still shoot myself for not buying it. didn't realize how rare they were back then. The sellers name was Mitch and I found his phone number in my emails. I should send him a message and see if he still has it.

The silver Rubicon's just look so good on Comanches!

Bought a different set of wheels for the Comanche today. I really like this style of wheels on Comanches and the price was good for the condition they're in. Can't wait to get my Comanche back from having the TJ gas tank mounted.

Looking for a JCR crusader bumper for my 1988 jeep Comanche. I'm located in Michigan if anyone has one let me know!

So besides JCRs diy bumper and the dirt bound rear bumper what options do I have? I messaged JCR and asked if they planned to make it again or a revised model and got a "we do not have any current plans for the Comanche market"

Looks like I started quite the s**t show by starting this post. 😅 I'm bummed they no longer make the bumper but I'll have to see if they plan on making a new one or not. Hopefully they do because I planned on buying all the JCR stuff.

I messaged them today and they no longer make the crusader rear bumper 🙁 I was going to buy it last month but decided to get my gas tank done first. Guess I made the wrong choice.

I planned to order a JCR rear bumper tonight but when I went to the website to order it I couldn't find it. the only one I could find was the DIY bumper. Anyone hear anything about this?

Bought a set of taillights tonight. I'm very good shape besides some blackening on the chrome and need to be clear coated.

1988 Comanche pioneer Started it's life as a short bed, 2.5L 4 cylinder, automatic 4x4 Now it has a 97+ XJ 4.0 v6, automatic 4x4 and 97+ interior swap Located in Mid Michigan (gonna be sure to put rust proofing on the frame/underbody this winter) It runs and drives I'll be using it this fall/winter as my daily.

I don't think the Comanche could pull it off 😂

Did a few things to the MJ this week like painting the grill/hood, ordered an mlc-6 from rough country and changed the idler pulley.

I'm located in mid Michigan bed is in pretty good shape a little surface rust in a few spots couple small dents and a little rust bubbling over the rear fenders. I'll have to take a few photos and send them to you
