  4. Thanks earl I absolutely love your 89 I use your build thread as leverage when trying to convince the old lady all the time I spend on it will pay off.
  5. Thanks! And yeah I was planning on ditching them until I saw a picture of them in graphite online. Took a hell of a lot of prep work but I was pleased at how they turned out. I'm not totally sold on my current rims but finances may not permit a new set so Ive been searching for color options and what not.
  6. I did all my testing with the tach out of the cluster and verified signal from the ICM.
  7. well that was the first thing i did but it didnt work
  8. I'm at a loss. When I got my truck it had an aftermarket tach zip tied to the steering column. I bought a cluster w full gauges but the wiring for the tach has stumped me. I tried reusing the green tach signal lead that was hooked up to the aftermarket sun pro tach as the signal for the OEM tach but the tach just slowly rises to lk 2500 rpm and stays there regaurdless if engine speed. Tach signal is properly hooked up to the ICM and adjusting the potentiometer on the tach makes no difference. Any ideas?
  9. My 89 just before I traded it
  10. Thanks I wasnt sure whether to do the grill pieces white or black but my gf insisted it would look better. I may go the plasti dip route in the future to see if I like it black and peel it off if I don't. wrz I really like your XJ my first jeep was an 89 and nowhere near as clean as yours- as for the bumper lights theyre actually projector housings I took out of a set of headlights at LKQ. I installed mine using a hole saw and some liquid steel. Unfortunately the cut off is upside down so I try not to use them on the road for fear of blinding oncoming drivers. Theyre great in the woods though.

  16. Decided these needed cleaning up a bit
  17. Primered and installed. Added my "Galactic Empire" vinyl sticker from the flea market. Only 20 bucks!

  19. Got a ZJ center console painted to match
  20. Playing with the idea of two tone doors. This is just a temporary mock up to see if i like it.
  21. Its a tad bright at night but the LEDs draw so little current that the dimmer is more of an on/off switch
  22. Scored a cluster with full gauges from the JY and wired up some LEDs in it. Still need the sending units for temp and oil.
  23. And currently this. I can't figure out if I want the stereo mounted overhead or in the dash, leaning towards the dash though
