Found this while looking around for an MJ for myself. Seems to be one of the better ones in the rust belt. I've bought from Davey's Jeeps several times and have always been happy with them. Thought maybe someone could give it a home.

The reason I ask if if your putting a 242 into a MJ and want want to do away with the CAD as a whole so it won't destroy the case.

OMG, you have what I have always wanted. If I wasn't always a member I would have signed up just to say what an amazing Jeep this is!

It's hard to get information like this from Jeep too! I had asked them about the availability of the 242 in another Jeep and their response was it wasn't information they could give me as it was a trade secret.

Dang. I was reading another thread about what it would take to put one in. Not quite as simple as the 231/242 swap I've done in my old XJ and TJ.

Did the MJ ever come from the factory with the 242 transfer case?

The price of a paint job can be difficult to calculate from one vehicle to another. There are many variables. Things like how good is the body? How much body work needs done prior to paint. Doing it yourself with rattle cans or having a shop do it. Do you want to have a clear coat? How high of a quality paint job do you want? I had a friend of mine who knows a guy with his own paint shop give me an idea. He said with minimal body work needed and a "factory" paint job you are looking around 4K to 5K.

Where you happy with the results for the cost? Did it really help with the road noise?

Anyone know an average rate to have the floor pans replaced if you cannot do the work yourself? I'm not a welder.
