I have been shopping around for a truck box. I was hoping somebody could grab some measurements, I would but I am at work. I need the measurements for inside of bed rail to inside of bed rail (driver side to passenger side), outside edge of bed rail to outside edge on other side, top of bed rail to the bed itself (I.e. How deep. In case it's important I have an 89 short bed. Thanks in advance!!!

Rear extended brake line
FireFighter32 replied to 360MJDude's topic in MJ Tech: DIY Projects and Write-Ups
In my Cherokee with a 3.5" lift, I used the rear brake hose out of a mid 90s Dodge 1500. It was definetly long enough! I'm sure it would work with the Comanche too. -
2.5 Renix to 4.0HO Swap
FireFighter32 replied to FireFighter32's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
So I have another question about this swap. Do I need the interior fuse block out of the Cherokee? Or does the Renix Comanche fuse block work with the HO? -
3.07 D44 v 3.55 Chry 8.25
FireFighter32 replied to navigator's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Personally I would keep the D44 and just regear the axles to the ratio that best serves the tire size you plan to run. There is a ratio chart somewhere. Plus the D44 is stronger than the 8.25. -
I am interested in doing this swap in the near future also. Any details would be much appreciated.

Fog Light Switch
FireFighter32 replied to FireFighter32's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Ok so I'll run my own wire. Now can anyone tell me which prong is which on the factory switch that is pictured in the beginning of this thread. -
Fog Light Switch
FireFighter32 replied to FireFighter32's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
My Comanche has the stock switch, and there is a stock plug plugged into it. So I assume it had stock fog lamps. From what I gather the 10-pin connector is near the fire wall on the drivers side? -
Fog Light Switch
FireFighter32 replied to FireFighter32's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Does anyone know where the OEM plugs which connect to the actual fog light would be located? I could not find them, even after removing my front bumper, grill and headlight cover. -
I've got a few questions regarding the stock fog light switch. 1. Which prong on the switch is what? As in which is ground, power, etc. 2. Also in the switches harness which wire is what? I assume black is ground. 3. One more. Where would the plugs for the actual fog lights be, like where near the bumper. The PO had a set of destroyed fog lights on there, and today when taking them off to swap them out I discovered he had run his own wire for them. I'd rather hook my fog lights to the stock switch and wiring.

Ok so you guys say I need to swap the 4.0HO fuel pump into the Comanche. No is that the in tank pump? Also would I need to do all new fuel lines tank to motor? Or can I use the same lines? -

basic exhaust question
FireFighter32 replied to jhaifley's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
You might as well replace the manifold also as they are prone to cracking -
I have a 1989 Jeep Comanche with the 2.5 I4. I also have a parts 1994 Cherokee for parts which has a 4.0HO. What is involved with the switch from renix to HO? I know I'd need to swap computers, but what else? Also what will need to be done in order for me to pass CT Emissions with a different motor in the vehicle?

Replacing Lock Cylinders
FireFighter32 replied to FireFighter32's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
this has been done by a couple of guys on here for the "one key" setup, i can't remember who though. actually, i think jeepcomj did, but, um, he's on "sabbatical" for awhile. :dunno: If anyone who has done this could chime in it would be much appreciated. I'm not even sure how to get the plastics off the steering column to get to the key cylinder. -
No the dates are right. I was given a 1994 Cherokee with an AX-15 and a NP231 as a parts Jeep. And I also have an NP 231 from another 1994 Cherokee that was an automatic. The Transfer case out of the manual Jeep has an SYE, where as the NP 231 out of the auto doesn't.
-
Will a NP 231 out of a 1994 Cherokee that had an automatic bolt up to a AX-15 out of a 1994 Cherokee? Will the spline counts be the same?

Replacing Lock Cylinders
FireFighter32 replied to FireFighter32's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
So is there no way to take the ignition lock cylinder out of my 94 Cherokee parts jeep and put in my 89 MJ? If so how do you remove the ignition lock cylinder? -
Replacing Lock Cylinders

Or I could buy a ignition lock set and a door lock cylinder from auto zone and have two separate keys.
