I just bought a 1989 Comanche that came with one single key, the ignition key. So I have no way to unlock my doors should I lock them. I have a few questions I feel this forum can answer. -Can I take the door lock cylinders and the ignition cylinder out of a 94 Cherokee and put them in my MJ so I will have one key for both the doors and ignition? -If so how do you remove and install the door cylinders and the ignition key cylinder?

Now not trying to sound stupid or anything, but where do I hook the hoses up to? Where do I run them to? Anyone have a good write up?

I know several people out there have done it, I was hoping to find out how they did it.

I searched this site and looked through the DIY forum and was unable to find any write ups or information on how to add power steering to a Comanche that came without said option. Does anyone have any information on what parts will be required, and what is entailed in the install? I would like to add power steering to the 89 Comanche I will be picking up shortly.

One more question..... for now. This MJ's ebrake is broken according to the seller. from what I looked at there is no brake release lever. Where can I find any or all ebrake parts?

Now for another question. How hard is it to replace the windshield if I were to do it myself? And can I use the glass out of another MJ or XJ? or buy new?

Hi I am new to Comanche's but not new to the Jeep world. I recently sold my 1994 Jeep Cherokee with a 3" lift and 33s. Today I looked at and test drove a 1989 Jeep Comanche 2WD, 4 cylinder, 4speed Manual with a shortbed. From what the current owner tells me it came stock without power steering. Is this true?
