  1. ok so lets try posting some pics... . so here's my little beater. 1989 Pioneer lwb with a 4.0 and 5 speed.....here's its story.....I was doing some landscaping 2 summers ago for a guy when i noticed what I thought was a cherokee behind the garage covered with a tarp.. I figured Id ask about it (wife drives a 2000 xj, might be good 4 parts...right?). So anyhow when I asked about it the guy says, " that poor things had it." He goes on to say that hed like to get rid of it... So now I'm figuring I'll offer him a couple of hundred bucks for itwhen he says," Id give 50 bucks to have it hauled outta here." Told him id be right back. Went home, got my z71 and trailer and hauled her home........
  2. Well I figured that Id lurked here long enough so I might as well join up. Just wanted to say that this is a great site. I'll have to work on that. :wavey:

  5. What I have is a few pages the po printed off the internet. I know I'm checking across the proper terminals according to the material I have for a reference. What is confusing me is that according to this an auto tranny should have an output of 4.2 volts (which is what I'm reading), but a manual trans (what mine is) should read .8 volts.
  6. I with a have a 89 pioneer with a 4.0 and a 5 spd with a problem... It started out as what seemed like a stumble whenever you tried to lug the motor down on a pull. I started out checking for vaccum leaks and loose electrical connectors. Next i cleaned the Iac solenoid and throttle body... Figured since i was there I might as well adjust the tps to.... here's my problem.... I have the correct input voltage of 5 volts, but when I check the output with the butterfly closed I have an output of 4.2 volts( my book says it should be .8 volts). My local napa wants about $90.00 for a new tps so Id like to know 4 sure if mine is bad b4 I order a new one.....thanks :dunno:
