Project bulletproof: 88 MJ short bed 4x4
cluricaunne replied to cluricaunne's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Got the bed in place, put the tailgate up for the photo op, but its not quite done... -
I'm not familiar with a piece of trim above the door. I do know that our doors are identical to XJ 4drs, so if it attaches to the door, you should be okay. If it attaches to the roof line, you will have your work cut out for you...
-
xj's should have the same trim, the windshields are the same, and the a pillars are the same, according to the hollander interchange...

The roll on herculiner seems to work really well on plastics, my cowl turned out really nice, looks good. As for lasting ability, I will have to keep you updated...

This is going to be a pic intensive post, but got paint done, still need coat #2 on the outside of the bed, and a couple more coats for the inside: -
i can tell you in a few days when I finish the rest of the jeep, I have to do the cowl, which is plastic...

Being a bartender has made me a beer snob, I can't drink beer out of a can anymore, but how I miss the days of yore, being a kid, hanging out with my buddies on the bluff, drinking a can of Rainier or 6. PBR was a good staple, lots of bud and bud light. Now I stick to the micro brews and the imports.

Wiring help? Anyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I paid 25 bucks for 12 months of the alldata report. I would send you pics, but mine is an '88 4wd, so may not get the job done for you. It is worth every penny though, and I highly recommend it. http://www.alldatadiy.com/index.html -

A quick update on progress, though no pics will be included: Started really prepping for paint yesterday, got both doors completely disassembled, but still on the truck, cowl removed, and windshield/back slider have both been masked off. A little bit of scuffing left and I can paint the cab. -
:hijack: um, why is nothing over 17" allowed?

more pics, and the only reason I like the Pac NW. Took a wire wheel to my floorboards today, love the way they turned out: -
I was proud and excited to get my MJ, then found the club, and realized that I didn't just buy a truck, I bought a place to get rid of all of that extra cash I had lying around... lol. Thanks guys, for helping me turn the truck of my dreams into the truck of my dreams...
-
when are you gonna get some pics of the current one up so everyone else can drool too??
-
great vid, funny stuff... nicely done... shame about the manche, that one looked nice
-
I would have left a card, but I only have a couple left, and they were on the shelf at home. Better story: the owner came into the yard today, apparently they left it parked there awhile (they weren't shopping, just using our parking lot, the bastages) and when they came back for it, it was gone. Shame to see it stolen, but the owner was, for lack of a better term, a crack head, and didn't deserve his truck anyways.

Got a lot done on the Jeep tonight (okay, not really, but I got the bed off, so that I can really get some prep and painting done, and you can see where I did the hood and the drivers b pillar. Without further ado, the pics: that's all I have for now... probably more tomorrow -
has anyone seen this MJ before, it is really clean. I didn't have my camera, but I hope my phone got the idea:
