  1. Thanks all - I guess I was mistaken but I thought that I was setting the choke with my two pumps before I crank?
  2. Hey all - I got an 86 almost entirely stock including the carb. For a cold start I normally pump it twice and give it a few more pumps as I start it until it fires. A buddy of mine was making fun of me saying I should have to give it any gas while I am cranking but I always have had to. I think my truck runs well though it is cold natured but is there something horribly wrong that I pump the gas as I crank it over? Thanks!
  3. I sucked at a goatee - was a bad shaver I guess. My Permastubble is great because it's neck only (worst part is Adam's apple and drawing a line between where my beard ends and my chest hair begins)
  4. That's always the worst when you have to shave a thick amount of stubble...
  5. Hahaha - haven't heard that one before. Permastubble is good for me as I could prolly stand to shave twice a day...
  6. I like the name of your truck - welcome!
  7. I have the permastubble thing going on - the wife likes it and all I have to do is shave a bit of my neck each morning. I had crazy beard in college but had to go more conservative for the office...
  8. That's what I keep telling the lady...
  9. Here I am, btw:
  10. Yup - the lady told me it "itches" - and agreed, not sure where to stop. I like my chest hair - have had it since i was 17 and don't want to part but I like my lady too ;) No back hair luckily. And not touching the legs. i would always do this: http://static2.beanscdn.co.uk/modules/ems-v2/article/featured/wsrhewr.png.png so before i get rid of it, who wants to start the comanche chest hair competition?
  11. I just feel like there is too much to wax. No back hair luckily. I did win a hairy chest contest on a cruise! We should have one on here before I maybe get rid of it! Takers?
  12. Should have asked too - does it really grow back thicker? It's the last thing I need!

    Chest Hair

I would imagine us Comanche guys are a hairy bunch but I was just curious if anyone shave, er, more than their face. Was considering doing it for the lady but didn't know what it would look like and if others did it. I am a pretty hairy guy so I welcome your views. Let the chest hair competition begin?
  14. I will have to try that Schick razor. I just want something that will keep a close shave all day long. As it stands now, by 3p or so I have a full beard so if I have a meeting at 5p, I have to reshave. Sucks to be a man in that regard. Also, similarly, the girl friend wants me to shave or wax my chest for an upcoming trip to the beach. I am not sure what to do... I always try to do what she wants in that regard but I am also a pretty hairy guy so that could be a painful process. Anyone ever shaved, ehrm, elsewhere?
  15. haha - when is retirement again? yes - well, i think i am going to stick with the Mach 3 for now even though its hella expensive. we are just lucky we only have to shave ours faces. not bad in the grand scheme.
  16. the problem with the neck for me is a.) not comfortable and b.) kind of connects with the top of chest hairs and i don't know where to stop. a day break from shaving is always nice though. weekends are amazing.
  17. Terra Wombat - 10 minutes to shave every morning!?! That's worse than me and I thought I was cursed by the beard gods. I seriously had to start shaving at 13 which was a big deal back in the day - now who cares. Though I too must be clean shaven for work every day which means this is a one to times a day process for me. Anyway, sounds like no (at least thus far) to the Electric razor idea. A co-worker also told me they suck for doing your neck and i go pretty far down there too. It just seemed so convenient!
  18. Hi, I am thinking of getting an electric razor and wanted some viewpoints. I have heard both good and bad but thought I would take it here. I currently use the Mach III turbo and grow a beard quickly (and thickly). I was going to get a Braun electric. Thoughts?
  19. Hi all, As many of you know, I moved to the UK for work and left my beloved 86 MJ behind. Well, I am back for holiday and went to drive the MJ and it won't start. The battery is good so it cranks but it won't fire. Its the 86 with the carb, so cold starting always required some pumpage and some feathering of the gas to keep it going until warmed but I stopped cranking after about 6 tries because I didn't want to burn out the starter. Any suggestions as to how to get this thing going? I normally pump it twice, crank it with the gas half down and give it a little pump here and there if it is sluggishly started. I guess I could pop the clutch but not sure if that would work (I am sadly not mechanically inclined). Thanks!
  20. any idea where? i have been unsuccessful.
  21. first... this is a great thread. i always loved comanche's. i actually always wanted one but when i turned 16, my parents got me a jetta. that was cool but it was no comanche. they never understood why i would want or needed a pickup. i grew up in a nice, pretty wealthy suburb and it didn't make sense. so i just envied the people i saw driving comanches. anyway, fast forward four years to when i was working at a law firm for my sophomore year of college summer internship. i was driving home past this used car lot that i passed daily and i saw a red mj sitting on the lot. i immediately did a u-turn and headed into the lot. the mj was almost hidden in a corner, covered by the newer trucks which is why the car dealer was surprised when i asked for the keys to that. there it was - a beautiful, red 86 comanche in decent shape with a manual transmission. we talked about the normal stuff and he asked if i wanted to hear it run and go for a ride. obviously, i jumped. funny thing is that i was probably the only person who would still buy in this situation. the dealer insisted on starting the truck. he popped in cranked it over and it fired on the first try. he got out to talk shop and the truck stalled out. got back in cranked it over and it started then stalled. it did this a few times til finally it stayed running. problem was that he was messing with the choke by giving it gas while cranking and after it started throwing off the fast idle (i think). anyway, i took it out for a test drive and bought it on the spot and have had it ever since. now i live in london for work and it sits at home - got to drive it a bit over the holidays which was great. i have a mini cooper over here but it is no comparison for my 86 mj.
  22. nice ride, man. and congrats on the weight loss.
  23. well i know this post is deader than dead but i tried and failed with my awesome idea (see the first threads). better late than never to follow-up, right? anyway, good forum to post pics of you and your mj still though. so if you haven't already, post some of you and your rig (driving it, etc.) thanks to those that did.
  24. no brits at all in the group?
  25. hey - thanks for the research. i have had similar results. there is a jeep club here (www.jeepclub.co.uk) but looks like only cherokees and wranglers. where can i get a comanche or j10? i have seen people with them in france and germany! i miss mine!
