  1. Ok got it....awesome no offense taken, should have done that first.... Thanks, again.....S
  2. Ok, my rear brake lines are rusty...def. need to replace them....so take a look at them, there are two, one that runs to the wacky load leveling valve. Can I eliminate the this and what would the procedure be to do so when I replace the rear brake line.... Much appreciated in advance.....Thanks
  3. This is more toward the Diesel question..... I have 1 of about 5 or 6 that I know about a 2.5 VMI diesel that was in a 1996 cherokee.. This engine is very popular in England and Ireland and stuff... A couple slipped into the country mine was right hand drive.....and was in an accident... but the drivetrain behind the 2.5 VMI is an AX-5 and a 231.... You could find one of these and it would be a drop in for a 4 cylinder comanche.... Do a search on ebay europe for cherokee.'s Good luck...
  4. Should be the same, but may need some minor trimming to adapt to MJ rails....Its just a piece of Angle with holes in it that you need to weld to. don't try it if your an amateur welder....very difficult and if you screw up you could burn through your unibody and ruin it.....Good Luck..
  5. Would it be easier to just mount the MJ body and bed onto the scout chassis. i have almost 15 years exp working on scouts. owned probably over 30 of them. If you bought a scout II "traveltop" 100" wheelbase you can chop the chassis very easily and move the wheelbase to whatever you want. The terra and traveler has a cut frame with an extension in it already from the factory that stretched the wheelbase to 118". If you got one of these you can just cut the welds and shorten the frame to your dimensions...That allows you to keep the Dana 44's in place and really all your doing is trimming metal off the jeep unibody...probably adding some stiffeners, but it will be much less mechanical work then transferring the engine, transmission, transfer case, fuel tank and so on....You can probably even use most of the comanche wiring? Just a thought....Am I totally off base here with cutting the unibody anyone....never done it, just seems easier....Good Luck...The SD33T would be a factory 1980 model...so it could have a Dana 300 transfer case...but it probably has 2.72 gears or some odd high ratio like that due to the C.A.F.E. standards International harvester was trying to reach that year.... other earlier years had 3.54's typically.... sorry vomiting about scouts is a horrible trait....... Def. post pictures i would love to see it....
  6. I am assuming that this is a constant problem on all Jeep XJ/MJ vehicles leading to the eventual rotting of the drivers front floor and I removed my interior during the transmission swap, to check the floor and patch the areas that needed patching. But now I am getting rain water into the cab. Is there a common area that they leak through. Hood was shut, under a deck, so It has got to be a pretty bad leak somewhere....windshield, door seals.... but it is just wet around the accelerator pedal and brake pedal areas, not up toward the seat area, or on the pass side at all....???? any ideas...thanks
  7. Thanks i will just keep it all together on this one and the next one...
  8. So I started pulling the transmission last night...but ran into a slight problem. The kick down linkage that connects to the throttle body assembly and then travels down the transmission. I removed the 10mm bolt and then tried to pop the linkage out. This is where the problem exists for me now. I can get the plastic up enough to see the steel cable running into the transmission, but it won't pop out or disconnect anyhow that I see. Any ideas... thanks Shawn
  9. Hi guys, been cruising around the site and found some great. I have a couple of XJ's but just bought my first MJ. 90 eliminator 2wd auto but I have a 90 cherokee with 88k 4wd, auto, so I can do a swap. But rear axle is my question right now.... I plan on putting a lift on it, prob around 3". So should I just do a soa in the rear, or reweld the perches on the cherokee axle...Are the cherokee axle perches spread different width wise then the MJ. So other wise can I just throw an XJ rear under it and call it a Soa, or am I looking at more work....thanks guys for the first of many questions...
