It was all cleaned and prepped, its just metal thats 1.2mm thick.(and maybe operator skill) plug welds were much better though -
So today I finally got my title in for a Jeep, since it was an out of state title the local office could not print it and it had to goto the state. Of course the state waits 2 weeks to print it, before mailing it, meanwhile I find a buyer who is willing and ready to go, and I'm sitting on my big fat payday. Today it finally shows up, I call my buyer thinking my $9k payday is here, I then open the envelope and what do I see staring me in the face. Fuel: Gas WTF! The previous NJ title listed the fuel as diesel. The DR 2698 Vin verification listed the fuel as diesel. The 8th digit of the vin is a "5" which is clearly not a "K" (5= 2.8 diesel K= 3.7 gas) So now I have a title, which is incorrect, a buyer who has been waiting for over 2 weeks, and another potential delay of weeks to get a title issue fixed. Who knows what kind of trouble this is going to cause me. In my defense I have both a diesel emissions test and a manufacturers statement of origin(photo copy) that show diesel as the fuel - still, logic and reason have no bearing at all in dealing with this. Maybe I better come armed with a 27b-6 form too............. Also, please pray for me tonight.

Todays update: Finished welding the brackets in place, patched a hole in the firewall I burned when tacking things in place, gonna wire wheel em then through some primer on tomorrow, then onto the lower pivot bolts, tranny tunnel bolts, patch a rust hole in the floor, weld in the 97+ seat bracket, do the firewall mods, door latch posts.......etc etc And so no one thinks I'm a slacker I did a timing belt on a diesel KJ this morning. -
that looks like a pita to use. IMO just give me something functional.

Steering column/dash bracket cutoff: Lets do this: Passenger side bracket welded on(the thin stuff at the top was a b*@$£) I got the drivers side partially welded on then tossed the dash in place to make sure I had measured the right place to weld the brackets on. Looks good to me, dash sits in place like it should. -

This is the 96- steering column hole: This the 97+ steering column hole, it needs to to cutout and moved obviously. Not exactly sure how I will go about that. Here you can see that the newer C101 plug hole, what I will probably do it cutout the donor shape and then use the bolt holes in the older plug to hold the plate in place. This is the older style steering column bracket, it will need to but cutout and the new one(below) welded in. Here you can see the older style heater core hole is a little different, but it'll work. Here you can see the upper dash bolt points are different, not sure what to do about those. This is the older side mount bracket studs/bolt holes, the newer style is below, as you can see there are a fair amount of differences. This is the older style door post latch, this is a little tricky but can be dealt with fairly easily. And this is where I think I will mount the filter head: I'm not sure why but I have a filter head with different banjo fittings on it, which won't work in my configuration, so the bent stockers are perfect. -
next time your planning to go, give me a holler, I haven't been yet and would like to go. Especially if they have Clutch Dude, pretty much anytime you want to come up we can do some brew tours, there are currently 9 breweries in town and somehow the number keeps going higher. I go so often that its more like....."when can you come up? and we'll do it then". Probably not, I'd put in down in the basement and forget about it. I'm pretty sure you can UPS or Fedex alcohol, but no USPS.
-
Also, send me a couple of bucks and I'll go pick up a bomber of clutch or whatever you want and I'll store it in the cool basement until we can get it to ya.

One more reason to never go back to Colorado... Thats good because we are currently full.

No thanks, I'm from texas originally so I don't want to go back. :D HAHAHA!! Dude, I got bad news, as of tuesday New Belgium will no longer serve free beer at the bar. RIP free beer at the brewery. So much for getting drunk for free. Sorry man, I should have never wished damnation upon you. I didn't think it would get this bad. You bastard.
