are cherokee and comanche spring plates the same? I've got a 91 LWB 4WD. I broke a stud on one and the other side is bent(thanks to PO for putting wrong shocks on  ). There are no 'manches in the boneyard here but two pretty good cherokees. :Canadaflag:

I know its not Comanche parts but, I just scored a 440 Big Block and a 727 Torqueflite for $200! Well, I guess it could go in the 'Manche.

My mother in law works in Service at Bayview Chrysler Jeep in Sarnia, ON :Canadaflag: --I got her to print me off a build sheet. Didn't know the computer went back that far :hateputers: . Don't know if its an MT but it has optional Dana44 heavy duty shocks, upgrade front springs and rear spring package "Group I" whatever that means. also, heavy duty elec. system and 130amp alt.--oh, and it was originally "Silver Star Metallic Clear Coat".

thanks--it is the 44 rear and 30 front--and I guess it is the base model---all the other digits on the body tag I think arte supposed to tell you things like colours and trim and maybe drivetrain stuff but I can't find any decoder for that. thanks again--any additional info would help.---I will post some pics as soon as I can. :USAflag:  :Canadaflag:

Hey guys and gals! I'm new on here so if someone can help me that would be great. I've got a 91 Comanche 4WD 4.0L LWB-I bought it about 2 years ago off a Used car lot (probably payed way too much). I love this truck(even though my wife hates it)!-it needs some TLC- doesn't look bad from 20ft. It was painted and safetied(I use that term loosely). I drove it for a year and a half the way I bought it. The past few months have been spent tinkering away on it fixing stuff like Death Wobble and more recently a fairly major frame repair. My question is this: Can anyone tell me if my truck is the base model or if its a Elim., Pio., Met. Tonne., etc.? It is currently silver metallic with black grill fender flares and a black pin stripe. Don't know if thats the way it came. Don't know its gear ratio, original colour, etc. It looks like a 44 rear and a 35 front(I think). I copied down the letters and #'s from the fender tag--can anyone decifer them? Nice find!!-I have those rims on my 'manche with 31's-- they were from a 96 Wrangler-my buddy sold them to me. Have fun with your truck and welcome--I'm new as well and have already gathered a buttload of info off of here! :Canadaflag:  :USAflag: -
anyone buy parts through Rock Auto? Can't believe how cheap it is! I ordered gas tank straps and a pair of shocks for the 'manche('71 Imperial). Even with shipping it was a 1/3 of the price at my local parts store. :Canadaflag:

don't feel bad...we are on the ragged edge of a recession up here! :Canadaflag:

1 litre = 0.264172052 US gallons 1 US gallon = 3.78541178 litre $1.18 x 3.78541178 = $4.47 US / Gal OUCH!--glad I drive my Neon to work.---450KM round trip.= 1 tank of fuel. That's just a bit under 280 Miles for those of us south of the CA/US Border.... Ha ha-Thankyou "Human Calculator"! ;)--what is the conversion for # of US tanks of gas to # Canadian tanks of gas?

'91 'Manche LWB 4.0 4WD 5spd. Is frame rot common on MJ's--I just spent 2 days welding and fabbing to fix my frame. Pass. side just started to crack above the rear axle. The drivers side was nearly gone behind the gas tank between the front of the spring and up to the high point above the axle--I think the box was the only thing holding it together.--back from the dead now though I think. While I was under there I discovered that whomever installed the crappy add-a-leafs didn't put a long enough shock in--WHAM!...WHAM!-know what I meen? Rear shocks for a '71 Imperial have about 6" more extened length and are only $17 at ROCK AUTO. Gas tank almost fell out too--was missing the middle and rear strap due to the rot. Gotta love those salty Canadian winter roads! Brian
