  1. No. Its pretty much 1 bolt out of 3 that would carry to load of a hard pull (if you used the front 3). The front two with any kind of hard load will rip out and take the back both with it.. Just cut a piece of plate to go behind the factory brackets and make it long enough to grap that hole in the back. I'm sure you know what your doing so just hop under the and take a look, but just don't use the 3 factory spots, use those and then some. Kinda hard to explain, but i tried. :ack:
  2. You can buy tow hook brackets. don't just bolt a tow hook to the "frame" it will rip out. You need a tow hook bracket the runs along the frame and bolts in about 4-5 places. Or build a new steel front bumper. don't pull from the drag link or sway bar, thats just dumb. In a pinch I have pulled somebody with the strap all the way around the axle tube nearest the control arms. Thats the safest place w/o tow hooks or a bumper. This is a good kit you can get from Motion Offroad: (made by C4x4) http://motionoffroad.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=119
  3. 3.07s if its a 6-cyl manual 3.55s if its a 6-cyl auto (most likely the combo) 4.10s ifs its a 4-popper.
  4. i had an aussie locker (detroit EZ locker) in the front of my old XJ, worked fine on the street, i could hardly ever tell it was there until i hit a parking lot, a bit noisy around sharp turns, but some thicker gear dope quiets it down. Off road it was amazing and wouldnt trade it for anything. Never weld a front axle if you don't have manual hubs (or a disconnect font axle). Its just dangerous and you can't turn corners.
  5. If its under a 96 or below its a 27-spline. (1996 was a crossover year so some have 29-splines it the plant ran out of the 27s, but uncommon) If its under a 1997-2001 its a 29-spline.
  6. My 79 F250 front 44 was 3" in diameter. Leaf spring 8-lug. And most rear 60s are 3" also.
  7. The first thing I would do is take out the 2 screws holding the fuse block on and check for corrosion. You said it got wet, so look at the back and make sure nothing is messed up. I took mine off yesterday to repair my flasher fuse that was not working.
  8. quick answer.. yup!
  9. Got my t-shirt today.. Nice job!
  10. Fuel, fire, and air. You got fuel. Next check for spark.. Make sure you distributor cap and rotor button are good as well as the coil wire.. Thats where i would check next..
  11. It came from a 2001 S-10 I will snap some pics tomorrow. I have removed the plastic covers in prep for paint, but you can get the idea. Sorry no pics, i just was in a hurry to slap it on.
  12. this is all i could find: or.. its actually a little "bluer" than i thought..
  13. I think I found it.. 2008-2009 Chrysler Factory Color - Deep Water Blue Pearl That blue color with black plastic trim and dark tinted windows.
  14. Wow, did not know that. I don't want to bring that drama here, i was just showing a good chopped XJ. Richard, they guy who did the work is a stand-up guy.
  15. Ya last weekend I swapped them to see if they were both functioning and they indeed both worked. I'm gonna investigate the switch on Saturday. :D
  16. Something like this maybe?: Or?
  17. Why not just take an XJ and chop the back and add a comanche tailgate? You could even add some material to the cherokee to resemble a comanche bed. Seems easier than completely building a mix of the two.
  18. Just sent you an email.. thx dude
  19. Scroll up a little bit :D I just asked him that ;)
  20. On a side note, how do you like that VR3 radio?? I saw it at wally world and it caught my eye.
  21. Thats what i thought.. Ive put many a radios in 97+ XJs and Grand Cherokees but never in an older XJ/Mj and the mounting is bugging me. Looks like from searching i found there is some sort of "radio tray" that came in older MJs. I just want to see how its mounted.. I still don't see any holes in my dash for screws..
  22. Anybody have some pictures of how their aftermarket CD player mounts? The PO has thrown an old tape deck in there and its mounted to the bezel and everytime I take the bezel off i have to drag the radio with it. I know there is a better way, but i don't see any mounting holes for a aftermarket bracket.. Any pics out there? Thanks
  23. U rock. I appreciate the help.. Ill be messing with it this weekend, so well see what i find.
  24. Thanks for the link, that is exactly what i needed. They do not come on at all when i hit the switch to go left or right. But the hazards work properly and everything lights up..
  25. Hey guys, So my right and left blinker stopped working. I got a new flasher and still have nothing, checked the fuses, they are good. I was gonna try and diagnose it, before i bought a new turn signal arm or switch. I pulled the steering wheel and everyhing "looked" good, but obviously something isnt connecting. Does anybody have a diagram on which wires in the column are for the blinkers? My hazards do work as usual with the pull switch thing on the column.. Thanks! :D
