  1. What kinda rear axle that thing got? I'm intrested in coming by to see what I might be able to use on my comanche, it's got a red interior also. Ryan
  2. Thanks thats what it was the weatherpak connector was up against the back of the engine block and got brittle and fell apart.
  3. Thanks Guys that was is. I found the sensor traced the wire and found the weatherpak connector melted and falling apart. It had been up against the engine block. I pulled the connector apart and reconnected what was left and it fired right up.
  4. Thanks I'll give it a shot.
  5. Ok my 87 comanche 4.0 has been running great every since I bought it this past summer(except for the cracked flexplate). I came home thursday night everything was fine, I get in it the next morning and it cranks and cranks but won't even try to fire. Last night I had a few minutes to look at it and the fuel pump comes on when I turn the key, so I depressed the schrader on the fuel rail and got a short burst of gas and that was it and the fuel pump didn't come back on when the pressure dropped. I cycled the key off and back on and the pump comes back on. Am I barking up the wrong tree? Maybe it's electrical? Thanks in advance for any advice Ryan

  7. That's probably the problem it's been sitting up that long, you probably won't be able to break it loose with just the balancer bolt. You will have to pull the balancer and put a crank socket on it or put the flywheel on it and use a flywheel turner. Most people would think I'm crazy but if it were mine I would pick a cylinder that wasn't at top or bottom and put a short 2x4 in there and give it a wack with a dead blow.
  8. I'm originally from Salisbury and have known the head machinist from Salisbury automotive since I was knee high to a grasshopper. I seriously doubt he let anything out of there that wasn't right. I would pull a rod and main cap
  9. That thing should turn. get a longer pipe
  10. Anyone have a source of supply for a flexplate for a 87 4.0? No one seems to be able to get me one besides the dealer. I've tried autozone,NAPA, and carpart.com. They all list one until they go to order it and then it's no longer available. Thanks Ryan
