Well, yes only one of me... I could make up a good story about a company Xmas party, photocopies of hot drunk secretary's lower "lady bits" and complete drunken stupor and stumbling home and not sure where my Jeeps were at... but the real story is much less exciting... Earlier in the week, I had TJ at the 4x4Shop for a couple minor things... Shop finished TJ, then I swapped and left the MJ overnight on Wednesday. MJ was finished on Thursday and I walked to the shop and brought the MJ back to work Yesterday, were I left it overnight and drove the TJ home. Drive TJ back to work this AM and both TJ and MJ are in parking lot . Had buddy drive TJ while I drove MJ back home, left MJ and brought TJ back to work, where it sits now. Drive home in a couple hours and both TJ and MJ will be there, I will officially begin my Holiday Drinking and eating extravaganza... BTW, I live 1.4 miles from my work with the 4x4shop nearly dead center between home and work. I really don't "need" either Jeep and should walk to work instead of getting in either one of them. ...and yes I'm bored silly also... SW2

Per this link ftp://www.knwd.net/pub/jeep/86-88_MJ_VIN_decoder.rtf the 8th Digit for an 1989 of "L", just indicates the 4.0L 6 Cylinder. The 6th Digit of "6" indicates a Eliminator Trim Package This all matches up with what the CarFax Says... SW2

It's nice here year round...that's why we pay through the bum for everything...50's in the Winter, 70-80's in the Summer... about 10 minutes from the Ocean, 3-4 Hours to Skiing and Lake Tahoe (and Rubicon Trail), about a 90 minute drive to San Francisco, about and 1 hour flight to Vegas... I like everything except the politics and cost of living... the rest is GREAT! SW2

Well, it's only 11AM here in Cali, and I have stuff scheduled past 4pm... UGGG! TJ's not quite 6" (yet)... I have the 4.5" RE Long Arm and a 1" BL, so maybe close since the RE springs are a little taller than advertised on these kits and it's still pretty new. SW2

Friday before the Holiday and I was/am bored stiff here at work (just about the last guy around still). I happen to have both of my Jeeps here @ work and snapped a couple rear pics... SW2 P.S. The Comanche fells kinda small and low after driving the TJ... 8) P.P.S. Don't bag on my parking job on the Comanche... I parked close on purpose!

Rear Speaker Brackets?
SuperWade2 replied to SuperWade2's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I guess I have the brackets after all... Will just need to dig up the Grills... Thanks for the info "wahoosteeler"...I don't plan on the thing being a super bumping system... just need some noise to cover up the lifter noise  I know it's not going to be a great sounding setup, but just need something in there that works. Rear Speaker Brackets?
SuperWade2 replied to SuperWade2's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
That was the first Pic I found on short notice... I guess one more thing to at to my WTB On the Classified Section...Maybe I should just make one and add/remove stuff as I get my requests filled...hmmmm Wade -
Were there originally brackets as shown in this pic in our MJ's? Mine has nothing... just holes where they pulled some speaker wire through for some box speakers that got tossed? I plan on getting a new cheapy CD and new speakers F/R, but apparantly will need some new brackets to mouth the rear ones? What about stock grills, or will I have room to mount the grills from the new ones on top of the interior trim? Anyone have an extra set they are not using? Thx SW2

I was just bustin' your stones Pete... Thanks Much! Sw2 -
Thanks for the reply guys... "Heat" Setting pump out on the lower vent as advertised (I guess I really should find an Owners Manual)... Now if I can just finger out the Interior Fogging Issue... sheesh.. SW2

SuperWade2 replied to Pete M's topic in The Pub
OK by me Pete, but I was REALLY REALLY looking forward to those free Magnets, Cards, Stickers, or whatever else you were gonna toss in with my new Hat... I guess I can wait... :D -
DOH!... See Stupid ?'s... I'll go out and check that here in a few...

You people are probably getting sick of me already... Been here a week and all I do is ask dumb questions and post WTB Parts requests... I think I have some kind of Heat/Blower issue. AC setting(s) seems to work, blows cool air from the dash vents "Vent" setting blows air through front vents "Defrost" Blow up thru the top Defrost Vents (and it gets Warm) but "Heat" setting blows nothing through the front vents... Luckily I live in Cali. where a "cold" morning is like 30 Degrees and that's only a couple times a winter. The cab area is so small that the defrost probably would be fine to keep everything toasty, but sometimes it would be nice to get so "lower" heat! SW2

Was direct to Jeep/Chrysler... Lemme find the link (I think it was on this site, but maybe over on JeepForum). BRB... **EDIT** http://www.jeep.com/wccsapp/universal/J ... category=U I had to tell them that I was the new registered owner before they would send the info, but wasn't a big deal and only took a couple days (I think I submitted request on Sunday)

Not that you asked for pics...but I've only owned 7 or so, and here is a photo collage of all of them (only the pics in #4-#7 are mine)... #1) 1978 Buick Regal...231 V6 - Most Oxidized Silver Paint you could ever see - Kinda like this, just silver and crappier... Purchased for $1200 with allowance money when I was 15 (1989ish). Rode like a floating couch! #2) 1985 Nissan Pulsar - A pretty "fem" ride... But the stereo would blast out the wnidows (when it wasn't being stolen about 5 times)- Kinda like this, just baby blue.. uggg #3) 1989 Pontiac Grand Am - Purchased from my folks when I blew the clutch in the Pulsar - Just like this (again, not my Pic) #4) 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix - My First REAL new car, and wish I still had it! An actual pic of my ride when it was new... Traded this in on #6 and only got $4K... didn't have a spot to keep a 3rd car at the time. #5) 1999 Jeep Wrangler TJ Sport - Was actually my Wifes 1st New vehicle after we got married (Bought new in Jan of 1999) It's no longer "hers"...Here's how it looks now after a few "minor" modifications... #6) 2003 Chevy Tahoe - Needed to have a "family" car with the kids on the way (were born early 2005). Will make a nice "Tow-Rig" for my TJ on longer outings! #7) 1989 Jeep Comanche Pioneer - Purchased last Saturday I still have #5-#7... all 100% paid for and plan on keeping for a good long while.

Here is what's under mine now...

Ok, here is a newbie ? (from a guy whose never owned a Jeep with Leafs), what is the "Overload"? I looked under the thing from the side and could see 4 Leafs, but don't really know what the "overload" is.
-
So 3 leafs normal W/O the Metric Ton package and 4 is with?
-
FYI, Only 4 Leafs... means I probably don't have the M/T Package and someone just added the D44 as a stand alone option. Maybe... I requested a Build Sheet from Jeep, but not sure if they keep them all the way back to '89 Wade

I searched, but the terms "Part" and "Time" seem to come up in a buttload of threads that have nothing to do with the dash lights... My lights on 100% of the time... When I was putzing with the new 89MJ, it stayed on in 2WD, 4WD, and just stays on... Should I be worried about it? I know the "Brake" and UpShift Arrow on that light panel go on/off when appropriately when they should. I feel like a dummy...literally... SW2

I live just over a mile from where I work. I have 2 small kids (2 year old Twin girls), so we take my Chevy Tahoe if we drive anywhere with them, and the Tahoe gets probably 12-15K mi/year. To get to any of the wheeling spots, it's about an hour or so (or 4-5 to get up to the Sierra's for places like the Rubicon). I just finished doing the upgrades on my TJ, but plan on trailering it to the far away wheeling place so I have room to be comfortable with the kids and all of the junk required to take them camping and stuff. So yah, the TJ is almost 9 years old, and I plan on driving it until I'm dead (I'm only 33yo)... I'm sure I will go before it does. The MJ should hopefully last just as long! Thanks for everyones help on here... I really enjoy the conversations on this site, and it already feels like a very close nit group of Comanche guys looking to help each other out how ever they can! SW2

I wasn't 100% sure at first, but I am VERY comfortable now... I've ordered a few parts (from guys on here, and a couple cheapy OEM) to try to get the interior back to more of a "stock" look and feel, but don't think I will have to drop a bunch... and I drive less than 5K miles/ year total, so If I split that between my 99 TJ and the MJ, It isn't going to accumulate miles very quicikly... (My 99 Tj, which I bought new in Jan of 99 has only 37K miles) SW2

Lifters are a little noisy, but otherwise seems to have plenty of "power" and I didn't notice too much else. major. I'll probably going to give it a better look over mechanically and probably service the diffs and everything. Might not happen till after Xmas, but I don't drive many miles, so I'm sure it should be fine. Been 15 years since I've driven a 5speed, so kinda like riding a bike... Only killed it once so far. Also a little of my morning coffee already... nice way to start a Monday! Not too bad of a mess...nothing that a little carpet cleaner didn't take care of. SW2
