ok well i don't need the FILTER. i am seeing if anybody knows what I'm talking about with the junkyard in northern california. The is a all jeep junk yard and i need to know that name of it. PLEASE HELP!!
-
no. i have the 2.5. its the cylinder shaped object towards the back of the valve cover. as far as ive seen autp aprts stores don't carrry this item any more. and all the junk yards in san diego hardly have the 2.5 engines in them and if they do this part doesnt exist.

i got a buddy over there that got transferred from nas atlanta. i can't remember which squadron but her works com/nav like me. drives a lifted dark blue 03 f-150...
-
how much did that run you.? the cheapest i got mine for was $83.00. and it wasnt called the IAC in the parts store computer. it was something different.. now.. if i could only remember the name.....:(

lets start a list of members who are serving in the military or have previously served. list what branch you were in , how many years you were enlisted, what rank you achieved, and what ur MOS or job was. i will start. I'm in the marines, a lance corporal, I'm in for another 3 years and I'm a com/nav elctrician on f/a-18's. OOH-RAW!!!

ok sooo..... i got in my truck to leave work to night and the truck decided it wanted to idle at 3000 rpm. it wouldnt stop at all. what could this be? maybe the throttle body position sensor? is there such a thing? any body got any ideas let me know? the truck is stuck at work. i had my budsdy come and take me home. btw it the 2.5 cylinder. tbi
-
well right now i havent done anything to my axels. i still have 2wd and a 4 speedwith the 2.5 tbi. I'm planing on a d44 in the rear and d30 up front with a 231, and a 5 speed that is available at the junkyard. but what I'm hearing i should be ok with 4.88's. i don't need to go 80. ive already accepted the fact that I'm def not the fastest truck on the highway. I'm just wantin a decent dd and offroader to keep up with everybody. my future setup should be good right?
-
about 6000.00 bucks to complete what i want to do and a month of extra leave:)
-
as soon as i get my 4x4 swap done I'm planing on running 4.88's gears with 35's. i know gas mileage is gunna go down the drain, but i also want to be able to keep up with traffic in socal. I'm keeping my 2.5. but i I'm building it and putting a aftermarket cam, headers, cold air, and possibly a throttle body( even though i know it doesnt help much). my question is..with the gears that i want to run, will i be able to go at least 70? i have 30's with the stock d35 right now and i can go about 80. are 4.88's too much for a daily driver?

whats a good company to get a camshaft from? I'm new to rebuilding the internals , how agressive would it be? is there a certain degrees it has to go to? and is the camshaft the only thing you have to change when installinga new camshaft?
-
..would any stroker kit for a 2.5 work with my jeep 2.5?
-
what transmission would work for that then? the ax-5 could hold up to the added power?
-
is the ax-5 the 4 speed manual tranny?
-
is there any such thing? can it be done and are the cyclinder walls to thin? if anybody has every heard of of one these kits please let me know.
-
How do you check gear ratios?
luke87 replied to onebigmj's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
so what would a 4 cyclinder with a 4 speed standard have? -
could be the ignition switch. check on top of ur steering column. there should be a blue plug/connector. i had the same problem, and it turned out the plug was melted.
-
i have a 4 speed manul. i will try and post some pics of my difficulties soon. Thank you wildman, that link REALLY did help, or atleast clarified how i was supposed to put it in. i always seem to take things out and forget how they were supposed to go in. can i buy a factory service manual at a jeep dealership??
-
they arent just two wires. theres a total of about 8 wires, ( 3 in one plug, and 5 in the other). the buzzer is one of the functions they control, but since they have gone bad, they also control the radio, turn signals, windshield wipers, and cigarette lighter. does any body have any pictures of this part being taken out an d put back in?? there are also two metal rods and I'm total confused now on how they go in.
-
i had to replace my ignition switch. its located on top of the steering columnand has 2 plugs coming from it. one of the plugs was melted so i snagged a plug from the j yard and now I'm having the damnest time getting it in. is the on easy way to lower the steering colum about a foot so i can see easier? and has anybody replaced these before?

the donor cherokee has the 2.5. if i get it it would fit, wouldnt it?
