How the heck did I miss this? It will save me tons of time.

Well I figured I would tackle the Boostwerks Ultimate Steering Brace today. I chose the weld together kit for price and it let's me ensure a perfect fit on what may not be a perfect 30 year old Unibody.

After finishing up the bumps I did some driveway Flexin' and I'm real happy with how everything turned out. Final lift is 5 inches with 3 inches of up and 8 inches of down. Rear is 2.5 inches of up 6 inches of down. Now she's ready for the trails.

Here is what the Spring retainer plate with the lower bumpstops looks like. I made the hockey puck removable in case I need to quickly remove it for extended highway use.

Thanks man

Much better, fully compressed I have lock to lock steering. Tme to build the other side and move on to the rear.
-
Yep it's a hockey puck.

To combat my bumpstops offset issue I've built the one on the right to replace the acorn style factory one on the left.

Haha, I always seem to make life hard on myself also. LOL

I worked on bumpstops for most of the afternoon and when at full bump and the opposite side hanging on the limit straps my lower bump bypasses the snubber. I'm either going to have to make a wider upper bump or shorten my limit straps. Building a rig that can drive down the road at 70mph on 37's and 5 inches of lift and still wheel it hard is turning out to be more challenging than I had expected. :)

New springs and limit straps are in, time to put it all back together and go get some bump stop measurements.

Well I've goofed off enough today, time to get back on The Eagle. I'm pulling the 5.5 coils and installing a set of 4.5's, I also have to hang some limit straps and build some custom bumpstops.
-
Thanks brother, I still have quite a bit of work to do on The Eagle but I've been catching up on projects and yard work. My wife wanted a hobby garden that wouldn't get eaten up by the deer and critters. So I spent a few days and built her this. Now that I'm finished with that I hope to be back in the garage this weekend working on limit straps and bump stops.

Finally got around to getting an Alignment on The Eagle, seems I got pretty close with a tape measure and an angle finder.
-
haha, thanks guys.

Went to the Jeepfest "Show and Shine" over the weekend and even though she isn't very shiny The Eagle took home her first trophy.
-
Thanks brother!

While working on my topper the other night a buddy contacted me and offered me a new Rooftop Tent at a price I just couldn't refuse. So I switched gears and today mounted it on The Eagle and I gotta say I dig it a lot. I'm ready for Colorado/Moab.

Thanks, they are JCR sliders

Started working on the topper this evening. My plan is to sleep in the back for our 18 day Colorado/Moab trip this summer. I got all the windows pulled and started stripping off the old blue paint.
