Gears, Gears, and more Gears

Recommended Posts

Wost case scenario, a calculator is all you need. You're looking for either a literal "4 10", "3 55", etc on the tag, or you'll find the tooth count for the pinion and ring gear, "41 10", "39 11", etc, and then divide. 39 divided by 11 gives a 3.54 ratio.

from what I can find is 8953000393 and 3 54 46 18 I know nothing about gears

ratio = 3.54

that "18" is actually a "13", and the "46 13" are the tooth counts of the ring and pinion gear. Divide the ring by the pinion, 46/13, and you get 3.54.
