robfg67
There are two 10MM screws that hold the door handle in place. The screw closest to the door jam unscrews nice and easy every time. The other screw snaps the bolt shank EVERY time. I tried to remove 5 different handles today at the bone yard and the same bolt shank broke each time. I shot the bolt with PB Blaster and turned the wrench very slowly. Does anyone here have a trick to removing this screw?
fiatslug87
I just removed both of my handles without any problems. However, I live in California where our vehicles don't develop much rust. Must just be the condition of the stud. Shoot with PB Blaster, unscrew the nut until you feel resistance, tighten it back up, spray more PB Blaster, and repeat until nut is fully off. Twisty
I took lots of door handles off (mostly from my parts Jeeps) and I never had an issue. I'm in MA too.... :hateputers:
