Twisty Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 My plan was to make brackets, bolt them up, then hold the main part of the bumper to them, and tack weld them on. Fit is great..much better than I expected. I guess you could say that I winged my bumper build :???:
smartazz19 Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 I saw the other thread an am interested too, I like the 2x6 box style but flush mounted by cutting the rear lower quarterpanels. Looks pretty good to me.

tkgibbs27 Posted April 8, 2008 Author Posted April 8, 2008 would it be a good idea to reuse the original rear bumper brackets?
carnuck Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 I scored a HEAVY steel bumper off some kind of truck for FREE! (guy got them on a Chev S10 with an exo rollcage) that has a class 3 hitch built in. Since I plan to haul trailer with my MJ after the auto 4x4 swap is done (got the trans/tcase in, 3/4 of the underhood wiring harness swapped and a tilt column shift to go in. Drive shaft cut down is tomorrow)
