valve cover baffles

Recommended Posts

Does anybody know where to get the gaskets for them? or should I just use black RTV?

Do I have to use hi-temp paint to paint the valve cover or can I use rustoleum? It says don't use on anything above 200*. But the valve cover doesnt get close to that does it?

I just used the black rtv.. I used it lightly on both sides of the reed valve.. I didnt use high temp paint either.. just regular paint.. I did sand blast the vc first then used a die grinder with a tootsie roll to clean up the burs and casting flashing/marks.. Then used some sem acid etch primer on it..roughed it up with some scotch-brite before I painted it..

I did however not have patiences to let the paint cure and got my big thumb prints in the paint when I put the vc back on,,, I guess I'll just have to redo it,,, next summer that is... :D
