69CamaroSS Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 I just need some suggestions. i can't find a speedometer cable for my 87 XJ anywhere. all of the junk yards around are pretty much out of cherokees. normally this would be the last on my list of things to fix, but there are cops all over where i live. anyway, does anyone know if i could use a speedometer cable from another kind of vehicle? would i be able to get one off of any kind of jeep? :chillin:
HOrnbrod Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 According to my parts manual, the cables are all different between the 2WD/4WD and the 4 cylinder/6 cylinder engines. Try the dealer, they might still have them. Common failure item.
