bigshrimpin
Guys - I'm looking into my options for 6 new injectors. There is a deal on the Design II injectors in the classifieds for around $100 for 6 rebuild Bosch 19# injectors, but I know of a set of 8 brand new design III 19# injectors that are for sale locally for $60. I read somewhere that "livesignal" replaced his injectors on an 88 comanche with Design III type with good sucess . . . Anyone know if these will work with a HO 4.0L? http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/view ... ors+design

bigshrimpin
I don't really know what I'm talking about . . . but I did some searching on this site and around online . . . Both appear to be 19# bosch injectors for ford . . . design II or design III. The HO injector spec is 22lb??, but there was talk about 19# injectors running better in 4.0L motors?? I'm just trying to make head of tails of this before I drop more money on the truck. If I can save $40+ and get them locally . . . it's worth a post. bigshrimpin
From what I read on most sites . . . looks like Design II and Design III Bosch injectors are interchangeable and that the 19lb injectors will work well for the unmodified 4.0L HO jeeps. Thanks everyone for your help. http://www.lunghd.com/Tech_Articles/Fue ... grades.htm http://www.fiveomotorsport.com/Injector_SetsJEEP.asp Got a set of 8 for under $100. Hopefully this does the trick.

The Design II & Design III are the other than some "Design" changes that effect the spray pattern and the actual appearance of the injector. If your HO engine is newer than 1996, then it will require the higher flow injector, but if it is 1995 or older the 19 lb will be the one for you. I have the Design II in both my '88 MJ and in our '95 YJ. The YJ is obviously an HO, but the same Ford Motorsport injectors are used in both the Renix & the HO engine from '87 to '95.
