mjeff87
Due to my recent unfortunateness, and the fact that my stock rear bumper is on it's way to TX to another member, I was forced to conjure up some type of bumper so that 5-0 would leave me be  (Pat, I need to modify yours so that it fits my shortbed....don't worry, this contraption is only temporary ;) ) So, for a grand total of $15 and some change, here's what you can make in about an hour with a couple pieces of 2X6, some leftover front bumper brackets, spray paint, and a license plate light from Advance Auto :D : Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found I've made some crap in my day, but I have to say I'm fairly proud of this one......simply booty-fabulicious. mjeff87
I really didn't want to put this in Tech  It was more of a lighthearted post than an actual "how-to" LOL.....

pingpong
Why wouldnt mine fit :huh???: or was it to much to cut so much sheetmetal off
87manche
didn't yours have rails that went up to the wheelwell? Jeff's rear quarters are shorter, probably needs to cut a bit of the "wings" off your bumper pat.
mjeff87
No, Pat cut the sliders off already (that was painful to watch  ) I'm reattaching those down the road sometime. Pat, the bumper does fit, I'm just cramped for time right now with the 'scort blown up. The factory bumper brackets on mine are welded in as well as bolted....I just have to grind the weld off to get them off and then yours is getting bolted up. Gotta work Saturday, so maybe Sunday hopefully I can get to it. That thing's a summbitch to try to hold up by yourself! Jeff
mjeff87
I got Pat's old/my new bumper wire-wheeled down, ends cleaned up with an angle grinder, and painted last night after work :D Only two more days to go with the Jed Clampett special..... pingpong
:needpics: I would have just cleaned the ends up, and lightly sanded it, and then repainted it. :brows: That rustoleum was on there thick :D I know it was heavy, why do you think I built it in place :agree: Just imagine taking that thing off by yourself with the sides still attached :nanner: My back is still hurtining from it
