McClare
My clutch grabs almost right when you let the pedal off the floor. Most other vehicles I've driven grab somewhere in the middle but this is grabbing right at the bottom. It's got a new master cylinder and there is no fluid leaks. Would this need a new clutch or a new slave cylinder? Also I bled the lines once hoping it was an air pocket. Vehicle is a 1992 MJ
Geonovast
It wouldn't be the clutch, the newer the clutch, the lower the catch point. It's probably the slave. Try bleeding again, but you may end up needing a new slave. You've got an internal slave, so it's gonna be expensive and the transmission has to come out to do it. If you do need to replace it, I would look into converting to an external slave setup.
JeepcoMJ
did you drive it before the new Master cylinder was installed? was the catch point different? I would re-bleed the clutch system and then figure out where to go from there.
McClare
I drove it before the master was installed but it leaked. If you had your foot on the pedal it would slowly push to the floor. It feels like it's grabbing lower than it used to
joshmillslane
Agree with above. It either needs to be bled again because of air in the system, has a bad slave cylinder, or is leaking somewhere along the line. I would check for any leaks first, if none are found, bleed the system, and if that doesn't help, replace the slave cylinder.
